Safe to Create is pleased to announce another round of In-Person Active Bystander Training Workshops for artists and arts workers in the arts and creative sectors in Ireland. Due to high demand following our successful sessions last autumn, we are hosting these workshops across the country this spring. Led by Professor Louise Crowley, Professor of Law at UCC and Director of the UCC Bystander Intervention Programme, and renowned policy analyst and consultant Olwen Dawe, these workshops provide participants with the knowledge, tools, and motivation to intervene safely and effectively in the face of harassment and discrimination in the workplace. Bystander training is a proven method for empowering individuals to address and prevent harmful behavior. By equipping workers with the necessary skills and understanding, our workshops enable them to intervene and put a stop to inappropriate behavior before it escalates into unlawful harassment. The feedback from past participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the clear and engaging delivery of the training. The next workshop will take place on Thursday, April 18, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Kells Courthouse Tourism & Cultural Hub in Navan. Using the traditional technique of oil painting she depicts people in neutral, relaxed poses, often in a larger context - an interior that reflects the character, or landscape - to convey a certain mood or feeling. Be quick to book your child’s place on our small driven game day near Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Young shots will learn to shoot safely at a range of driven birds under the guidance of BASC mentors. This event is aimed at young shots who have some shooting experience and want to experience driven game shooting. Age: Minimum 10 years (Please contact us if your YS already shoots and is less than 10 years old). Maximum age 18 years. Young Shots will need to wear suitable outdoor clothing for the expected weather. Safety equipment and shotguns will be provided but if your Young Shot has their own shotgun, they are welcome to bring it. On the day we will be using non-lead ammunition so if your young shot is bringing their own shotgun it will need to be a nitro proofed 12 or 20 gauge shotgun with 2 ¾ chambers and be choked at less than half. Cartridges will be provided. Time: 8:00 – 15.30. Once your child has signed in/registered with us, you may then leave and return at 3:30pm to collect them. This session has been designed for riders and team car drives to experience a convoy situation in a safe controlled space to build confidence for when they are in this situation in a race. The workshop and session are delivered by Bryan Steel with the support of commissaires, NEG motorcycle riders and experienced convoy drives. In the workshop the riders will learn the rules of racing on the open roads and how to be safe while in the convoy and then going out on to the Darley Moor circuit to experience what they have learnt in a safe controlled environment.
