Once the photos are processed and everyone looks their best, they will be uploaded to our social media channels. While you are welcome to have someone take a picture with your camera, we believe the professional photographs will provide the best quality. You might be wondering why we charge for this show. We understand that there is a wealth of free entertainment options in the city, and we appreciate your decision to support us. The income from ticket sales goes towards fairly paying the performers, DJ, lighting tech, stage manager, show producer, ASL interpreters for select shows, decorations, costuming, props, advertising, and much more. We are a close-knit family running a production company, and any additional income beyond fair wages goes towards community outreach and future events that we choose to produce. Bookbinding and Beyond is an insightful talk that explores the fascinating art of bookbinding and its connection to the natural world and our sense of belonging. The event will feature Louisa Boyd, a talented multidisciplinary artist based in Cheshire, who specializes in paint, print, and sculpture. Drawing on her background in Embroidery, Louisa's work showcases sewn bookbinding structures as her final outcomes. Throughout her artistic career, Louisa has ventured into various mediums such as painting, print, and sculpture. However, her passion for the traditional craft of bookbinding has remained integral to her artistic portfolio. She further honed her skills by undergoing training from esteemed members of the Society of Bookbinders between 2010 and 2014. This training allowed Louisa to develop a series of artists' books, incorporating her unique prints. Louisa's artwork beautifully integrates bookbinding materials, processes, and tools. From sewn structures to on-lays and the use of the Japanese screw punch, her pieces showcase the versatility and beauty of bookbinding techniques. During the talk, Louisa will delve into the inspirations behind her work, sharing early artist books as well as more recent artwork and gallery pieces. These captivating creations incorporate foils, finishing tools, marbling, and even utilize bone folders to shape her sculptures. The central theme of Louisa's work revolves around humanity's enduring desire to belong to the natural world. She skillfully incorporates celestial symbols, sacred geometry, natural landmarks, and map-like imagery to evoke a sense of connection to our environment and a deeper understanding of our place within it. Bookbinding and Beyond is the fourth talk in a series of four, celebrating the founding of the Society of Bookbinders in Manchester in 1974. This event is presented in partnership with the Society of Bookbinders, North West and North Wales Region, which was established in Manchester and will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024. Join us on November 21, 2024, at The Portico Library in Manchester for this enlightening event. Tickets are priced at £6. If your group is split between multiple tables, please refrain from holding seats at a table to which you are not assigned. Regardingfood and drink, please be aware that they are not included in the ticket price. You can place your food and drink orders as soon as you arrive either at the bar or food window. We kindly ask for your patience with our staff, as we will be accommodating over 120 people into the venue simultaneously, making it nearly impossible to serve everyone all at once. Lastly, we encourage you to show appreciation to our staff by leaving a tip. They are like family to us, and we believe in taking care of family. If you have never been to a drag show, you may not be familiar with the tradition of tipping. In our world, tipping is a sign of respect and admiration towards the performers and their performances. So, if you see something you like, we encourage you to tip the performers. You may notice crew or cast members passing around a bucket or tray after a performance. Any tips collected by another performer or crew member for another performer will always reach the intended recipient. If you prefer to send a digital tip to the team, you can Venmo us @PrismaticEventsSTL. Please specify in the comments if your tip is intended for a specific performer. Feel free totake as many pictures and videos as you'd like during the show! We want you to document your experience and share it on social media. Just make sure you tag us! @PrismaticSTL -Performers may not be able to take a selfie with you during their performances, but they will be available for photos after the show. We have a professional photographer to capture moments throughout the day. The cast will take a moment to freshen up before joining you on stage for pictures, and our photographer will be there to capture those images. If you are coming with a group, there's no need to worry. You can either have one person purchase all the tickets or email us at wesrankin@gmail.com, and we will assist you in coordinating the sale of tickets for your group. Thank you for your understanding and support as we test new experiences and open our fabulous fourth season! Information Source: Prismatic Events | eventbrite

Whether it’s working on your own projects, sending those emails, writing that tricky scene, researching opportunities, creating a directors showreel or pitch deck, collating an industry database, learning a new scene or monologue or maybe rehearsing/filming a self tape, then this workspace is for you! It can sometimes feel lonely and a little isolating doing all of those 'must do' creative admin jobs that lead us to the next project. So we wanted to set up a space where DDN creatives (writers, actors, directors, producers, musicians, dancers, comedians, theatre makers to name a few) can come together in a supportive space, connect with each other and get those jobs ticked off the 'to do' list! A focussed and motivating space where you can enjoy a tea/coffee, run ideas/questions or even the wording of emails past other creatives, and leave feeling like you’ve just had a “good couple of hours in the (creative) office”. For this first session, we will have a lanyard system available to highlight when a creative is working on something alone and a different colour for when a creative is happy to chat with/support others. Access There will be a BSL interpreter at this session.
