Het is niet altijd fijn om een worm te zijnadvies leeftijd: 4 t/m 11 jaar De voorstelling bestaat uit vijf personages; Lieveheersbeestje, Krekel, Bij, Spin en Worm. Allemaal insecten (behalve worm) met hun eigen innerlijke conflict. Het gaat in het kort over je buitengesloten voelen, zelfkennis en zelfwaarde. Tijdens het stuk krijgt Worm een bijzondere rol, waarin hij moet bewijzen wat hij waard is. Voor zichzelf en de wereld om hem heen. Dit verhaal vertellen we door middel van tekst, beweging, muziek en interactieve scènes. Het is ons doel om kinderen bij het stuk te betrekken, om ze zo te amuseren maar ook de boodschap over te brengen. What is Koholā? Koholā is a creative vocal platform created by Jeffrey Noordijk and Tim Achthoven. We believe that improvisation opens up a playful field in which we can allow ourselves to explore by saying 'yes' to our creative ideas that arrise in the moment. By sharing our voices without judgement, we lay the foundation for a deep connection to ourselves and to one another. Our goal is to create an inclusive community in which we invite everyone who has a passion for singing and co-creating music on the spot . By organizing versatile gatherings, we will dive into the realm of improvisation through all kinds of playful excercises and circle singing. What is Circle Singing? To sing in a circle is an ancient ritual of humankind. The circle is a powerful shape in which we connect through singing. In the middle of the circle there is a person who invents parts and offers them to the singers. It's always an exciting experience to be a part of these spontanious compositions. You get to vocalize the imagination of the person in the middle and make it your own. It can be harmonious, lyrical and groovy or it could also be loud, experimantal and a little crazy. Everything can happen in the circle. Who is leading this Circle Sing gathering? The gathering will be facilitated by Jeffrey Noordijk and Tim Achthoven. Both are professional and experienced singers / improvisers / facilitators who graduated from the 'All the way in' program, led by the legendary Rhiannon - amongst others known for her book 'Vocal River' and through collaborations with Bobby McFerrin. Do you also want to experience being in the middle of the circle? Feel free to ask! We would like everyone to be able to have this opportunity. Who are Jeffrey Noordijk and Tim Achthoven? Jeffrey Noordijk Jeffrey Noordijk graduated as a creative and versatile singer from the Utrecht Conservatory in 2015. Throughout his career there’s always been a big fascination for the wondrous and adventurous realm of improvisation. Therefore he sings in a vocal improvisation ensemble based in Cologne, called ‘VokalOrchester NRW’, he works as a teacher at the Utrecht Conservatory (Musician 3.0) and he works as an artistic leader / trainer at ‘Stichting Kobranie’ (a conducted improvisation method). To dive even deeper into the material, he studied under Rhiannon during her ‘All the way in’ program. This magical experience made even more clear that he wanted to share this work with as many people as possible. Tim Achthoven After graduating as a saxophone player from the Jazz & Pop department at the HKU, Tim has been training as a singer. Through vocal improvisation, he felt he could express a lot more and took notice of the power it holds when sharing this with other people. Studying with Rhiannon during “All The Way In”, leading several choirs, orchestras and workshops only empowered this feeling. Now, as a chef in a restaurant and studying “Haptonomie”, he’s always singing and looking for that connection everywhere he goes. Do I have to be an experienced singer? Not at all! Hoe je met scheve voet toch tevreden door het leven kunt stappenJoke Ligtvoet (1931 - 2023), de tante van theatermaker en muzikant Eugene Ligtvoet, heeft een kleurrijk en bewogen leven geleid. De schrijfsels in haar dagboeken zijn een rijke schat aan persoonlijke anekdotes en herkenbare verhalen. Die geven een bijzonder beeld van een eenvoudige vrouw die met vallen en opstaan haar eigen weg vindt en die met humor en relativering de maatschappelijke veranderingen van twintigste eeuw doorstaat. Een bijzondere tante die strooiend met grappige levenswijsheden en door iedereen geliefd heel tevreden tweeënnegentig is geworden. Haar leven lang zong ze met enthousiasme talloze liedjes die ze ooit op de radio had gehoord. Haar dagboeken, aangevuld met persoonlijke herinneringen en de lievelingsliedjes van tante Joke, vormen de basis van deze verteltheatervoorstelling. Mad Cow Comedy hosts an afternoon of stand-up comedy performed by various international acts, all performing in English. Utrecht-based comedian, Rachel Morton-Young, introduces a different mix of comedians every 2 weeks, so no two shows are ever the same. NEW VENUE!! Our show now takes place in the Biergarten at Kartoffel, a German-themed restaurant along the historic Oudegracht (only a 10 minutes walk from Utrecht Central Station). A fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon in the heart of Utrecht! LINE-UP:Karan Karthik An Indian comic thriving in the Netherlands, Karan mixes sharp wit and storytelling to explore themes like prejudice, love, and mental health, leaving audiences laughing and thinking. Katherine Rhodes A member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star, Katherine combines sharp humor and dazzling magic to amaze and amuse audiences. When not performing, she improvises with Magician Improvable or takes to the skies as a pilot. Jens Rabiega This German-South African comic has performed from NYC to Cape Town, delivering hilarity with a daring edge that’s as sharp as it is unforgettable. Evan Sanford A Californian polyglot with a global comedic journey, Evan has performed from Bangkok to Barcelona and runs Power Hour Comedy, one of LA’s hottest underground shows. Rachel Morton-Young Your host and the owner of Mad Cow Comedy, Rachel Morton-Young brings her sharp humor and infectious energy to the stage, setting the tone for an unforgettable afternoon of laughs and connection. This will be our last show of the year before we take a 3-week break. We'll be back on 12th January with another fresh line-up of acts. Line-up 27th October: Fred Ferenczi is an award-winning comedian who, 15 years in, is in demand at great UK clubs and internationally. Katherine Rhodes is a highly respected and sought after performer. Her sharp humour mixed with incredible magic leave audiences amazed and amused Sra Mukherjee is an Indian-origin comic who is always experimenting with her comedy. With a promising stage presence and likability, she brings unique observations and anecdotes from her personal life to the stage. Ger Staunton has been described as “one of the best comedy writers in Ireland” by the country’s longest running comedy club ‘The International’. Ger is a regular headline act in his home country, as well as being one of the most internationally travelled performers to emerge from the Green Isle.
