You're All Talk: Rob Drummond on the beauty of linguistic diversity | The Portico Library
Apr 9, 2025 (UTC+0)ENDED
Manchester
In You’re All Talk, linguist Rob Drummond explores the enormous diversity in our spoken language to reveal extraordinary insights into how humans operate: how we perceive (and judge) other people and how we would like ourselves to be perceived. He investigates how and why we automatically associate different accents with particular social characteristics — degrees of friendliness, authority, social class, level of education, race, and so on — and how we, consciously or subconsciously, change the way we speak in order to create different versions of ourselves to fit different environments. Ultimately, You’re All Talk demonstrates the beauty of linguistic diversity and how embracing it can give us a better understanding of other people — and ourselves. This is a launch of the paperback book and it will be on sale on the night. Rob Drummond Rob Drummond is Professor of Sociolinguistics at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he researches and teaches about the relationship between how we speak and who we are. He recently completed a large project exploring the accents and dialects of Greater Manchester, touring the region in his Accent Van. He appears regularly on radio and TV talking about language-related issues and spent some time as ‘resident linguist’ on BBC Radio 3’s The Verb, as well as appearing on the BBC Breakfast sofa.

Grenier Air Base: A Beacon on the Home Front | Bookery Manchester
Apr 18, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Manchester
Join Leah Dearborn, author of 'Grenier Air Base: A Beacon on the Home Front' for a book signing and to learn the story of Grenier Field, a military air base in Manchester, N.H. that had a major impact close to home and in global events. From World War II through the Vietnam era, Grenier Field was a bustling military hub, hosting tens of thousands of troops and support staff who were part of the nation's air defense system. Time has not been kind to Grenier.
Today, almost all traces of the base are gone from what is now Manchester-Boston Regional Airport. Nothing remains to remind us of the people, both military and civilian, whose service helped define life in mid-20th century America and around the world. This book is a project of the Aviation Museum of N.H., and its goal is to trace the history of Grenier Field through the stories of those whose lives intersected with it. From World War II fighter pilots transiting through Grenier on their way to combat in Europe, to special squadrons in the 1950s that launched top secret high-altitude balloons,
Grenier Air Base: A Beacon on the Home Front
is composed of a range of first-hand tales as told by people who were part of the Grenier experience.
Leah Dearborn is the associate director of the Aviation Museum of N.H., located in Londonderry. She holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and in 2019 earned a master's degree in international relations from the McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She worked as a staff writer at the
Lynn Daily Item
and has contributed to the
Boston Globe, SOCO Magazine, The Town Common, The Chelsea Record,
and other publications. As a writer, her goal is to tell stories from the past that would otherwise be lost.

The Design
(Human Framework)
In the simplest terms, all Reality is dominated by Tuned Frequencies observed in the Mind.
In each
24hour
cycle, resonances pulsate through the entirety of the body. Frequencies in language stimulate Pulse Rates in the Brain’s Magnetic Field. This resonant field influence subservient Thoughts & Thinking trained since birth to accept subtle methods of
Mind Control.
Their Frequencies are a window of Time, creating illusions of the MIND that Mirror realities it BELIEVES are there.
Frequencies are resonances of information that travel along the Rod of the Spine. Resonances are
Carrier Signals of Wave Transmissions
which equally conduct electricity upwards toward the
North Pole
of the Brain (
positive
), and downwards to be grounded at the
South Pole
of your Coccyx (
negative
).
For the most part, modern societies are kept oblivious to the applicable purpose of these frequencies. It is a Technology of Mind, pitched to over stimulate Thought & Thinking that manipulate behaviours without the observer knowing. These cognitions will interrupt clear transmissions between the Brain and the Coccyx, connected to the ground and the atmosphere.
By Shifting Phase Positions to Frequencies which correspond to Earth’s
(7.8 hertz)
, removes limits imposed by the Mind by fragmenting implanted illusions.
Frequencies of reality are pitched for the Mind to Believe success is dependent on money, authoritarianism, self-recognition, media influence, and materialism. Actual success, however, is the recognition of the Cognitive Positions in Frequencies as systems in Time controlling the illusions the Mind creates.
