Usually, the festival is held in October and commemorates the day when the Buddha returned from the heavenly realm. Thai Buddhists celebrate this holiday by offering food and visiting temples. However, the festival not only includes religious aspects, but also includes exciting activities such as traditional longboat races in different regions. Different temples in each village often make bamboo boats and decorate them with lights and candles. Even families make their own banana trunk boats and take part in the parade! In Nong Khai, another city on the Mekong River, the Naga Fireball Festival is held to honor a mythical creature that lives in the river. Bangkok Art Biennale (BAB) is a biennial art festival set in Thailand's capital. Spanning a variety of venues over a 4-month period, BAB helps transform the bustling city of Bangkok into a lively hub celebrating art, creativity and culture. Visitors can immerse themselves in an array of artworks from local and international artists at art and cultural spaces, iconic landmarks, temples and public places.
