ABOUT:
My Dear Comrades
In this poetry collection, Sunu P. Chandy includes stories about her experiences as a woman, civil rights attorney, parent, partner, daughter of South Asian immigrants, and member of the LGBTQ+ community. These poems cover themes ranging from immigration, social justice activism, friendship loss, fertility challenges, adoption, caregiving, and life during a pandemic. Sunu’s poems provide some resolve, some peace, some community, amidst the competing notions of how we are expected to be in the world, especially when facing a range of barriers. Sunu’s poems provide company for many who may be experiencing isolation through any one of these experiences and remind us that we are not, in fact, going it alone. Whether the experience is being disregarded as a woman of color attorney, being rejected for being queer, losing a most treasured friendship, doubting one’s romantic partner or any other form of heartbreak, Sunu’s poems highlight the human requirement of continually starting anew. These poems remind us that we can, and we will, collectively rebuild.

Engineering Compressed Air Conference at AT&T Stadium | AT&T Stadium
May 28, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Arlington
Welcome to
The Kaeser Half-Day Conference in Arlington, TX
! Join us at
AT&T Stadium
for an exciting event filled with insightful speakers, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, this conference is perfect for those looking to expand their knowledge and connect with like-minded individuals. Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and have a great time. Engineers will receive 4 hours of PDH certification for attending. See you there!
Purpose
To educate and network engineering professionals in compressed air best practices.
Two Learning Tracks
Track 1: The Impact of Controls on Compressed Air System Designs
Speaker: Taylor Quackenbush
Operating a compressed air system is a trade: energy output and equipment wear-and-tear in exchange for stable pressure in a system. Variable speed drives are widely regarded as the ultimate option for energy efficiency, but are they the solution to every problem? Are we specifying systems that leave facilities exposed to the variance in consumption in the modern manufacturing environment? From options that affect individual compressor operation to system master controllers, we will discuss the factors that influence a business case for or against modern and legacy technologies.
Track 2: The Impact of Air Quality on Compressed Air System Designs
Speaker: Gerald Baron
As production processes continue to become more complex and demanding, air quality for compressed air has become a critical issue. This track will address the design considerations, applications, operating parameters, and installation requirements for compressors and air treatment systems as well as potential alternatives worthy of consideration.
Speakers
Taylor Quackenbush
is the District Manager for Kaeser Compressors in the Southeast. He has been working with manufacturers to improve uptime and reduce operating costs since 2018. As a Territory Manager for Kaeser, Taylor was a two-time President’s Club winner. Before joining Kaeser, he was an artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps and holds a Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Gerald Baron
started his professional life forty-three years ago by betraying an honest degree in mechanical engineering (BSME, University of Massachusetts – Amherst) and instead inexplicably electing to pursue a career in technical sales. His experience includes all aspects of the compressed air business, having held a variety of technical and leadership roles with Ingersoll Rand and Kaeser Compressors, Inc. Before joining Kaeser in 2003, he created a position to oversee the technical and sales training program that was implemented both nationally and internationally by Ingersoll Rand. Gerald currently holds the position of Branch Development Manager with Kaeser, which, along with managing multiple locations throughout the U.S., his role brings him into regular contact with a wide array of the latest compressed air technologies.

Gino Vannelli Bio
Since his debut release of Crazy Life, in 1973, Gino Vannelli has remained one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music. His voice is as memorable as his hair, as he has been dubbed, “The Canadian singer songwriter with a lion's mane.” But Vannelli’s evolving music has kept his fan base growing for over 40 years. From rock, to jazz, to soul, even classical, this singer/songwriter/producer has left no musical stone unturned. With an amazing 21 albums under his belt, most hitting the Billboard charts—his recent release being ‘Live in LA’, a concert
shot at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, California, hitting number one on Amazon. Vannelli is a living legend, and his live shows should be seen to be believed. Some things get better with age and Vannelli is living embodiment of that sentiment. He released his 20th album entitled “Wilderness Road” on April 5th 2019, a brand new collection of recently written songs on his acoustic guitar. In 2021 Gino released a new compilation called “More that A Good Thing”, which contains a contemporary remake of The River Must Flow, (a song from the Brother to Brother record), featuring Brian Mcknight on backvocals and Michael Phillips on talk box. Gino has just finished production on the latest Massimo Ranieri album, “Tutti I Sogni, Ancora in Volo”, to be released in the fall of /22.
Whether performing piano-voice concerts in theaters, singing
before symphony orchestras in concert halls, big bands or a pop ensemble, to throngs of enthusiastic fans, Vannelli remains impassioned and true to his art as ever. His standing as a powerful and innovative live performer, his well-hewn musical
skills as composer, poet, producer, arranger, and bandleader, keep his career rising to greater heights.
Two years in the making, Gino just completed his new record entitled, “The Life I Got”, to be released on February 7th 2025. His most personal record yet.

Overnight Backpacking Trip for Ages 11-15 | Russell Commons
Jun 7, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Arlington
Join Tim Swanson of
Owl Eyes Wilderness Survival
and Dave Fatula of
Guineafowl Adventure Company
in this camping and backpacking experience. Students will learn the basics of overnight backpacking in the wilderness. Topics will include how to plan a trip, emergency response plans, how to pack a backpack, set up a campsite, camp cooking, route planning, and more. Depending on group ability and interest, we may summit a mountain, explore a waterfall, stay at camp to learn skills, swim, and/or fish. The hike will require hiking up to 5 miles or more on varied elevation and terrain each day and students are required to bring most of their own gear, however, some gear is available to rent. Guineafowl Adventure Company has tents, backpacks, sleeping pads, and sleeping bags available should students need to borrow anything for the trip. Food will be provided, please inform us of any dietary restrictions, preferences, or allergies.
A shuttle service will be available from Arlington, MA to the Lincoln Woods Trailhead in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. You may meet us in Arlington to drop your child off, or bring them straight to the trailhead. We will make sure everyone has the right gear before we head out on our hike. A detailed gear list will be sent to students before the trip.
This is an overnight trip in the backcountry with highly trained instructors who spend a lot of their days in the wilderness. We are excited to be offering this as a course, and try to be accomodating to everyone. We ask that you are realistic in the expectations with your child in regards to physical ability, homesickness, and getting alot with other people their age. Each individual impacts the group dynamic and there is a certain expectation that everyone will respect eachother and be able to make it to the campsite. We act as a group on backcountry trips and never leave anyone behind, however we have a plan and must make it to the campsite for the night. If there are any questions or concerns, please reach out to us.
This trip will start Saturday morning and end Sunday evening. Exact times will be communicated before the expedition. This course is open to students ages 11-15.
