Op vrijdagavond 31 januari nodigen we je uit voor een bijzondere avond, waarop we het laatste weekend van de expositie LICHT UIT inluiden. Kunstenaarscollectief Touki Delphine organiseert samen met Beautiful Distress en Brandstof een avond waar grenzen vervagen en ideeën tot leven komen. 'Oh! Alexander' is een serie van Touki Delphine, geïnspireerd door Andrea Wulf’s The Invention of Nature, een boek over het leven en werk van Alexander von Humboldt. Tijdens deze avond koppelen ze deze inspiratie aan hun recente werk en verkennen ze de verstoorde balans tussen natuur, mens en technologie. Bo Koek, lid van Touki Delphine, neemt je in deze Tussen Licht en Donker-editie mee in zijn verkenning van 'noise pollution’. Verwacht een multidisciplinair programma te midden van de tentoonstelling LICHT UIT. Deze avond heeft voor Beautiful Distress een extra dimensie, aangezien we ons in een periode van grote onzekerheid bevinden. Door het wegvallen van structurele financiering is het nog onduidelijk of we in de toekomst kunnen blijven bestaan, dat het licht definitief bij ons uitgaat. Of Beautiful Distress verder zal gaan zoals we het kennen, is op dit moment onzeker. Maar laten we juist nu, tussen licht en donker, samen de kracht van kunst vieren!
