Faith, Ethics, and Public Life: A New Era in Christian Engagement: Winnipeg | Faith Covenant Church

May 3, 2025 (UTC-5)ENDED
Winnipeg
Cultural Experiences
Canada is at a crossroads where rapid cultural change and ethical uncertainty have created an urgent need for biblically grounded and theologically rigorous responses to pressing public issues. From debates on healthcare and technology to questions of justice, identity, and community, Christians are seeking thoughtful guidance that bridges faith and public life. Yet, a void exists in providing robust theological reflection and practical tools to navigate these complexities. How can we better equip pastors, professionals, and congregants with the resources to discern and embody a Christian perspective in their personal, professional, and collective lives? By fostering academic excellence, faithful moral reasoning, and a distinctly Canadian Christian voice, this initiative aims to illuminate a path of integrity and hope for the church and society alike. In an effort to foster collaboration, representatives from various organizations and initiatives dedicated to Christian ethics are encouraged to attend. This session offers an opportunity to learn about the collective direction of our efforts and to explore potential avenues for partnership and shared engagement. Public Discourse: Discussion on establishing a credible and unified Christian perspective in debates on issues such as healthcare, technology, justice, and identity. Professional Guidance: Review of ethical frameworks and tools designed to support professionals in fields including healthcare, law, and business. Academic Development: Outline of strategies to promote rigorous, interdisciplinary scholarship in Christian ethics.
