Glasgow is home to two major airports: Glasgow International (GLA) and Prestwick (PIK). GLA is the most common airport for inbound traffic, especially if you’re flying from London. The airport is less than an hour from the city centre.

How to reach the city centre from the airport
From the airport, you can get to Glasgow city centre in a number of ways: taxis take around 20 minutes and cost approx. £45 (up to 4 passengers); trains leave from nearby Paisley Gilmour Street Station every 15 minutes and go to Glasgow Central Station, costing just £2 - £5; and the Glasgow Airport Express 500 shuttle bus service, which can be booked via its own app, costs £8.50 for adults and £4.50 for children. Ride hailing services such as Uber are also growing increasingly popular.
Getting around the city
Glasgow is a pretty compact city, so you’ll be able to find your way around on foot, by bike or by using public transport. The subway is one of the simplest ways to travel around the city centre, the West End and Southside.
