I am glad I didn’t pay full price ($350/night) for this. Great location and everything looks nice from the outside and the lobby. The room is decent from the looks but once you stay in there, you will realized nothing is working properly.
The AC/Heater was not working, the control for the AC/Heater doesn’t work so the AC was blasting cold air all night on NYE!!! So we were both freezing and it was 2am!
The TV only have 5 channels and 2 are the same as the other 2, so in reality only 3 channels. The TV quality is also very outdated. Feel like we were watching TV from the 80s/90s when it was the actual 2024 NYE concerts. And on the 5th channel, it is just showing how DirectTV subscription is expired, like what?
The Wifi in the room is not free unless you are a Bonvoy member.
There was less than a quarter roll of toilet paper on the Tp dispenser and they also didn’t provide a second roll. The body wash pump was empty and the shampoo ran out.
The bottom side of the toilet seat looks very filthy as if they haven’t clean that part of the toilet seat in a while. The floor of the bathroom was also very dirty.
We usually check if we can ask for a late check-out the night before, but we called the front desk with no answers. When they finally answered, they said we have to call back at 7am to let us know. Ehh Hello? The whole point of getting a late check out is so we can sleep in? So I had to set an alarm to call back at 7am to get a 1pm check out. It was a bit annoying.
This was a big disappointment for me because this was supposed to be a nice hotel from Marriott as the Autograph Collection. Especially for $350 a night in the middle of Old Town Alexandria, I had expected better quality.
Not to mention the chaos during check-in. Seems like there were only 4 workers there for HUNDReDs of customer. People were angry about being stuck in the parking garage and no one can help them and they gave a lady a room that currently already have someone checked-in. Apparently the lady opened the door when the guy was showering in the room. What a chaos!

Overall I give this stay 5 stars. The front desk staff were VERY friendly! The location is epic! While there is currently no housekeeping service due to covid 19, house keepers came by the room each day to drop off any requested room items (eg coffee toiletries towels). Hummingbird restaurant is open and delicious.
Notes: Parking available in a city deck immediately behind the hotel for significantly less money than hotel parking. The walls in the hotel are VERY thin - I listed to my literally could listen in on neighbors phone calls (& ahem…other activities).

The hotel has its own free parking lot, which is great.
The location is also very good, and it is really comfortable to walk around.
The room is nothing to say, the bathroom is a little small.
The breakfast is free, but it is a little simple, and it is definitely no problem to eat enough.
The waiter is very nice. A very good experience.

We were only in Alexandria, VA for one night, arrived early and room was ready. Location was great, we were able to walk with luggage from metro. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and made the stay that much more enjoyable. Room was clean and comfortable. There is a Whole Foods block away, very convenient. First trip with 8 year old Great Niece for her birthday and the staff made her feel very special. Special thanks to Tam, Mr. Molla and Shaquera (apologies if names bit off) for all recommendations and assistance! Will definitely be our choice of hotel when we return to area.

Second time-even better! We chose this hotel again because of its proximity to the Metro and Old Town. It was a win-win on both accounts. We loved walking around the area and eating locally plus we loved having easy access to DC for the museums etc. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a large desk for the bit of work we needed to do. The Wi-Fi was free but I had trouble with it using AT&T but my partner has Verizon and had no issues. I did love the digital key on the app. It didn’t work a couple of times as my Wi-Fi was iffy at times in and near the room. We went to the diner next door for more reasonable breakfast prices.

Glad we stayed here. The hotel was immaculate. The bell staff always opened the door for us and greeted us each time we walked in. The elevators were super fast and the room was exceptional. We were upgraded to a larger room and it was perfect for the visit. The restaurant was not too bad and the only thing is I normally do not like to leave the car with a valet but they were fast and friendly. You text them and they reply an give you a time to come get the car. Make sure you have some money handy as they do overwhelm you and begin to grab bags and park the car. I was unprepared and had to remember who to tip later on in the visit. The room air was perfect and the visit was fantastic.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. It is not safe. My mother, my sister, and I went to Alexandria to visit my husband who is active duty. My mother (93) and sister (71) stayed at the Holiday Inn Carlyle, 2460 Eisenhower Ave, Alexandria, VA 22314 from 5/5/22-5/7/22. On Saturday evening, 5/7/22 at approximately 9pm, there was a tall African American man in their room when they entered. He was walking toward them and my sister asked him who he was and how did he get into their room. His response was that he thought this was his friend’s room and showed them that his key card worked and said he would go to the front desk to get this straightened out. Nothing was stolen from mother and sister but my sister said he had clothes draped over his arm with price tags hanging. They were understandably shaken up. They could have been killed. They went to the front desk and they had someone walk them back to their room to tell them how to use the deadbolt. This way no one could enter their room once they were inside, he said. Apparently, an engineer was to come to their room also to look at the key lock but he never showed up. It was too late to move hotels by the time this was all done and they were okay staying the night. The next morning, we moved them to another hotel. I called back Monday morning and talked to the General Manager who had no idea that this happened on Saturday. He called the police and said his staff did not follow protocol. They should have called the police on Saturday evening. Hmmm makes you wonder if the staff was in on this and the man had a master key perhaps or the front desk employees were making keys to the rooms that they had guests staying in for him. It was clear that he stole from other rooms by the clothes with tags over his arm. The GM was kind (at first) and comped the room for the 3 nights and gave us bonus IHG reward points as we are a member. I could care less about the points. What I’m concerned about is 2 months later (7/22), the police said that the hotel has not provided any video footage. I have called the hotel several times and talked to the GM and was told not to call them anymore and to talk to the police. I did call them back again as nothing was getting resolved and talked to the assistant GM and he told me in an email “the hotel management is working with the local City of Alexandria Police Department and will be sending the footage requested by officer XXXX, once obtained from security camera technician. Any additional updates or information will come from City of Alexandria Police Department.” I talked with the police last week (6/27/22) and the hotel has not provided the video footage yet. I have called the GM back several times since and got his voicemail. I have tried for 2 months to get some resolution so the only thing I can do now is to make all of you aware of this situation and DO NOT STAY HERE FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. Besides, the hotel is run down and the comforters had stains on them. Just terrible all the w

Our family of 5 stayed here for a week. Everything was clean and in good working order, the staff was pleasant and helpful and the location was close to everything we needed. Parking was easy and free and breakfast was adequate. We felt the fitness center was larger than expected. We REALLY appreciated the daily housekeeping at this property as that doesn’t seem to be common these days. Though this hotel doesn’t have a pool, there are several community pools within 15 min of the property that allow you to swim for a small fee. We went to the one in Old Town and an indoor one at a recreation complex and greatly enjoyed it. Though we found this on our own, it would be great if hotel staff could recommend these options.

GGuest UserThe person at the front desk when I checked in was wonderful.
GGuest Userroom was clean, big tv, has many channels include hbo. but bathroom wasnt clean: ventilation full of dust, lights next to mirror not working. for this price should be working everything and clean. big plus has FREE breakfast in IHOP from 6am to 9am
GGuest UserHotel stay was far less than satisfactory and here are the reasons: 1. Some Front Desk staff didn’t know how the Bonvoy Ambassador hotel credit worked providing evidence many are poorly trained. a. The morning front desk member told me that he “just worked here” and the manager would arrive in a couple of hours to help me. No one ever got back to me. b. Requested manager support, not one got back to me. 2. Hotel room had: a. Collapsed cushions on the couch. b. Mold in bathroom c. Broken or extremely worn furniture. d. Torn and ripped window drapes 3. Billing was wrong and difficult to correct. Our family grew up managing hotels and I know that owning and operating a hotel is very difficult, this hotel exemplifies just how hard it is. I will not stay at this hotel again because there are so many other quality hotels in the area at the same cost.
徐徐Ctrip booked two double-bed rooms, ready to check in at the front desk, and only one double bed was answered. The Ctrip customer service was always busy. Later, a customer service called me to talk to the hotel front desk and gave them to the hotel. After a confirmation code inside, the hotel found another section of the department, or a double bed. The customer service phone changed the hotel front desk to a large bed. The front desk refused, said it could not be changed, and finally had to wait for Ctrip to negotiate, about an hour before and after. Finally, I went to the hotel on-duty manager to explain the situation before I was able to check in. I got my room card at 8:50 pm and 10:00 pm. After a long day of fatigue, it was a bit ugly to encounter this. The location is relatively close and the price is relatively cheap. After all, Hilton is a big name, but this type of hotel has to charge and expensive for breakfast. I still think that holiday inn and crown plaza are better and cost-effective.
Ggabriellesqualityno hot water, maids come banging on your door in the morning even when you blindly book a reservation, attempt to check in at 9pm only to be told I need $50 additional dollars I didn’t have! Ended up checking in around 1am because that’s how long it took for me to scrounge up extra change and personally asked for an extended stay because of the inconvenience and how late we actually got in, nopeeee, woke up around 8am with maids banging on our door every 30mins to the hour. I’ve never been so pissed off in my life
Very friendly and helpful staff. They’re currently updating the rooms, with the first updated ones likely to be ready in October. Easy to use laundry facilities on the lobby level (app available for payments & notification when laundry is finished). Housekeeping does an excellent job keeping the common areas and rooms clean and tidy. WiFi works great, can be upgraded with a small fee. Rooms come with a kitchenette and full-sized fridge. Can request various kitchen items, such as coffee maker, utensils, pots/pans, etc to use during your stay. Overall an excellent location with great amenities and wonderful staff.
GGuest UserI enjoyed the stay here. The utensils and dishes are often hard to get enough of. For example, I wanted some forks, but they were out. They had plenty of dishes for me to use, and I had brought along a spoon, so I ate with the spoon I brought with me.
Otherwise the rooms are adequate to move around, and the queen size bed was firm and comfortable. There are three pillows of various firmness and thickness, so should suit most people.
The breakfast is paltry, only consists of instant oatmeal and granola bars. There is plenty of coffee. Once coffee ran out, so I notified the management, and they started a new batch right away.
Per posted policy, they don't clean the room if staying less than a week.
