"our itenary for kerela included two day stay at Marari beach resort. I was traveling with my elderly mom. this special hotel impressed me from the moment we arrived onwards for the following reasons- 1. we arrived few hours early but the staff accomodated without any issues . The check-in was smooth and we were promptly allocated a room with staff member accompanying us to the room to ensure everything was shown and explained. 2. property is so well designed with mature trees which are named with a placard and beautifully landscaped and very clean . room itself was beautiful, clean and well stocked. open concept bathroom was an added bonus. eco-friendly suggestions to reduce waste , water were highly thoughtful and appreciated . 3. food was excellent. the staff at dining hall was always helpful and providing excellent service . special mention to Jathin who was very understanding and excellent. staff in their traditional dress looked awesome and all of them worked hard to cater for the guest. a special mention to live music performance at night by Jayan and sindhi (fluet and tabla recital ) was excellent. 4. special mention to Mr Shibu, an environmentalists, responsible for few activities in the resort. his knowledge of birds , the way he has made habitat ,both in resort and at home to attract different birds/ owls and other animals is praiseworthy and very inspirational. Butterfly garden with beautiful flowers and organic garden are worth enjoying . 5. Ayurveda centre offering different treatments and massage were excellent. overall our two day stay was unique and memorable , made by hardworking, professional and very pleasant staff both at front and people who work behind the scenes at this beautiful resort. Everything was very reasonable and worth every penny . would not hesitate to go back and I would highly recommend it as a bucket list destination ."

"Made us wait including my dad who is a cancer patient for 1 hour to get an auto so they could take us to boat• We booked a deluxe room and the description didn't match room - There was no wifi, no toiletries, no TV in room, the room was full of dust, no shampoo, no hand soap!! the food is like a cheap PG food- not even salad or a dessert, terrible just terrible• refunded me 2500 INR on a booking made with 15000 INR but honestly this doesn't justifys• I live in Europe and I wish I had made booking through hotels.se because they would have refunded my full money. "

"I came to Ashtamaya while recovering from an ACL injury, needing a peaceful and affordable place. The owner offered me a small room at ₹4,000 per 7 days. Later, over the phone, he said I could stay long-term for ₹12,000/month and pay in smaller parts — so I understood the next ₹4,000 payment was for 10 days. But soon, I realized the services were not provided — the room was never cleaned. Worse, the cleaning lady came in and started asking invasive questions like “Why are you here?” and “When are you leaving?” After that, she stopped cleaning at all. I began to feel uncomfortable and unsafe.During almost 1 month stay she only came to clean 3 times!!!! Not even toilet paper was provided! I had to always go and ask at the reception! I decided to leave early, paid as agreed, and moved out peacefully. But after I left, I received strange messages from others, claiming the police were looking for me and demanding my passport and visa photo over WhatsApp — which is completely inappropriate. I felt harassed and disturbed and had to contact my embassy and begin an official complaint to protect myself. I do not recommend this place, especially to solo women or anyone in a vulnerable situation. What seems calm at first can become deeply unsettling."

"This is a really fine homestay hotel. It’s very new and well-designed. There’s a small pool on the roof that offers a great view of the beach while you cool off. There’s an elevator for those of us who can’t handle stairs as well as we once could. The owner and staff are super friendly. Complimentary breakfast was eaten with other guests and usually the owner. A very family-like atmosphere."

"The bathroom is not good, room service is not responsive, restaurant food is not good and the morning buffet breakfast is very pathetic, the swimming pool is not clean and there is no maintenance. In my opinion the cost is too high and we are not getting that much service. If we go to the beer parlour at 10:00 pm the person who is there is not willing to give the beer. As per the govt rule we can buy these things until 11:00 pm. But the barman wants to close at 10:00 pm. It is not good at all. "

"Went on the Cattelya 2. Spent 2 nights on board. Wonderful crew served us great meals, of vegetable curries, appams, fried fish and prawns that we picked up. The bedrooms were airconditioned as were the living areas. The aircon ran constantly without issues. The toilets were clean and well designed. The crew were unobtrusive and kept to themselves except at mealtimes and docking. Saw beautiful churches and fantastic views ***** the way. The canals are clean and full of life. Memorable trip"

"The most irritating part of this houseboat is the boat will drive in the backwaters only for few times, maximum time it will be stopped. In mm t the check out time was mentioned at 9 am, but they completed the journey at 7:45 am. Food is ok, not too bad, not too good. My suggestion is if you want to enjoy backwaters then book a small boat and enjoy or more cheaper option is govt ferry."

"The rooms are neat and good. Good, clean toilets. Clean. Staff good. Alleppey beach is 5 minutes by walking. They provide complimentary breakfast. This beach home stay has 8 double ac rooms and a comfortable dining area. There's no restaurant, but one can order food of choice from alleppey restaurants through swiggy. Private car parking for about 3 cars available. The approach road of about 300m is a lane but not much traffic. Nearby several home stays. Though rooms are with mosquito netted windows, if you keep rooms and windows open, mosquitos can be a problem. Yet, we found this stay comfortable and good."
