Ambleside Central

The location of this hotel is perfect to access all local places. Although basic the room was well equipped and very clean.

HORRENDOUS 0 Star. Had no sleep what so ever. How can you advertise a family room next to a bar that stays open till the early hours. The windows provided no sound proof at all. Screaming men and women constantly. Doesn't seen to be any police control regarding noise. Worse than BENIDORM.

Was simple accomadation. Whole building has a weird smell. Our chests were hurting after waking up. Facilities were standard. There was damp on the ceiling of the shower. Parking was a 7 min walk away which was inconvenient when having luggage to carry.

Only stayed one night of 2 paid for as we just couldn't bear to remain here any longer. 1- Laughable parking situation- in a car park which has a sign stating it is prone to flooding and is situated down a dark lane with no street lighting. Forced to use a permit for the dashboard which stated the incorrect month on it (this is the second one provided by the hotel, the first was completely pixelated and unreadable 2- The codes on the door work intermittently so it takes time and faffing to get in. The code doesnt light up as it's supposed to so we had to use the torch on our phone to see it. 3- Whole building fusty, dusty and completely unclean 4- Bathroom smelled of faeces from arrival to leaving, the extractor only works on a sensor when someone is in there so doesnt properly filter air in and out and clearly whoever was before us had abit of an incident in there 6-Hairs in the sink and dead flies in the bath upon arrival 5- They do warn of noise but on a weekend this is NEXT LEVEL. We assumed the noise would stop after the lily bar closes at 1am but they allow guests to linger and converge on the street right below the room windows until gone 4am. It was worse than when I stayed in central ibiza...in ambleside! 6- They do replenish toilet tissue and hot drinks...by chucking them on the floor outside your room! 7- Steep stairs up which can be difficult when taking children I've stayed all over, various hostels on all kinds of budgets, but this is by far the worst place I have ever stayed.

We stayed in room 2 which luckily had a bathroom in the room. But in some of the rooms (1 and 4 I think) the bathroom is across the hallway which is used by other rooms. Terrible sleep, the single bed had a decent mattress but the double had a mattress that dipped in the middle. Noise from the lily bar kept me awake all night. People shouting outside could be heard until 3 and 4. The windows did not block out any of the noise. Spider squashed on the mirror. Red stains in the bathroom. Strange smell in bathroom and in the hallway. The parking is a 5 minute walk away so you have to drag your suitcases all through ambleside centre. We was meant to stay for 2 nights but left after 1 because we could not have another sleepless night.
