"Maison Chiberta had very lovely staff! They were doing an exceptional job in the heat!! Our room was stylish but lacked storage, but very lovely and clean and that’s probably our fault for booking a small room. The breakfast wasn’t fantastic and there were a lot of flies around the food all morning, no fly nets were used by the hotel for some reason. It feels like some of the hotel eg. The rooms, has been renovated to a very high standard. But then other areas were completely lacking. No AC or fans in communal areas and the gym for example was very hot and the floor wasn’t grippy so it was very slippy in there. I’m not sure we would stay again but we did love the area with our car. I would realistically say it is a 3 star hotel with 4 star potential."

"Whilst I gave this a five realistically, I think it would be more of a 4.5. We had a lovely stay, It is such a beautiful area and there is lots to do. The hotel was generally great, but there are some things they could do. I think to improve it. The Good Location was amazing, Right on the beach with a promenade down to Biarritz. There were several beach cafe/bars in walking distance. However, it’s important to know they did get quite busy so it can be worthwhile booking. The room was very good. We paid extra for a Seaview and balcony which was well worth it as it was stunning sitting looking out across the ocean. The beds were very comfy and the room was clean and had good facilities. The outdoor pool was really nice. It was very clean and there were always plenty of sunbeds so no fighting to get the lounger! The staff were really wonderful they couldn’t be more helpful. They were so friendly and they really put themselves out for us a big thank you to all of them. there are a number of nice things to do in the area. You can walk to Biarritz is just over an hour or you can get a taxi or a bus from outside the hotel. There is a lovely nature reserve about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, which is well worth a look round and is free to visit. You can hire e-bikes from the hotel and cycle round to Bayonne. There is a safe cycle path all the way we did that and it made a nice afternoon out. Bayonne is really pretty and has a lovely cathedral to look around. What could be improved I felt that the breakfast could have been improved. Whilst what was served was nice it was quite a simple and basic selection and lacked the choice that you would expect from a 4 star hotel. A bigger hot food selection, some homemade cakes, more cheeses and cold meats would really improve this. The hotel food was nice but the snack bar only served from 12/2 and you could not get crisps/ice creams at all. This was frustrating as there are no shops nearby to get snacks from. A little snack kiosk or vending machine would be useful! The spa was fun but to be honest it did need a revamp. It was very tired looking and looked past its best. General Lovely time and I would go back to this hotel if they could just make a few improvements to the food and snack availability it would be perfect!"

"Friendly welcome, comfortable bed and pillows and excellent shower. Room was ready at 11.30am when we arrived. Good choice at breakfast - we paid €12,80 each on the day, which was good value for the selection. The downside was the renovations, which we were not told about in advance. It did not disturb our sleep but there was noise from drilling etc and the flooring was not stable. Also the ceiling of the room was patterned black and white which did feel strange when lying in bed! There were also roadworks outside the hotel due to finish 18th April. This hotel is a distance from the centre and the beach. We walked in, which took 45 mins to La Grande Plage and 1 hour to Plage de la Chambre D'Amour. We got a bus back, Line 3 drops you just outside the hotel (Lavigne stop) and Line 11 (7 Puits stop) is about a 10 min walk to the hotel. From the airport, catch the Line 3 bus, google maps shows you can walk it (20 mins) but we did not see any pavement and it is a busy road. Uber is available in Biarritz but it is very expensive. We loved Biarritz, it is very like Newquay. Would recommend visiting the Plage Chambre D'Amour side, there are lots of beach bars/restaurants with a surfer vibe."

"The hotel does not match its credentials, despite its appearance. Scrap the surface, and you realise how modest the services are, from the restaurant (very, very disappointing and excessively expensive) to the cleanliness of the room. The atmosphere is cosy but quite inauthentic. Amenities are limited, and the gym is disappointing. Staff are unable to speak any language other than French. The establishment benefits from geographical positioning (e.g., the lake and proximity to Biarritz) and unashamedly capitalises on that. Our restaurant experience has been the lowest point: food reminded of what is served in business class, overcooked and undercooked, cold, and unsavoury. Average price for plate is 50 Euros."

"Room is spacious for a european standard. Buffet breakfast selection was much better than other hotels in europe. More variety of salads and fruits which is very good. However, room is hot. No AC still. Open window still hot at night. They should turn on the AC"
