Mr & MRS Smith Kapsaliana Village Hotel

Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! This is a beautiful, rustic oasis hidden away in a lovely area of Crete. Upscale, boutique, and peaceful with wonderful staff and excellent food.

I came home from Kapsaliana on 25th June and honestly, I have never missed a place so much. I needed a peaceful and restorative holiday after a difficult couple of years; I couldn't have asked for a better place. From the moment I arrived I felt my shoulders drop. The grounds are beautiful and have been sympathetically restored and maintained. I spent a lot of time just sitting and soaking up the view and the atmosphere. Eating breakfast on the terrace, with the smell of jasmine in the air, was a joyous experience for me every day. The food was superb - a huge and varied spread for breakfast, something for all palates. I ate dinner at the restaurant on 8/9 nights of my stay and every meal was delicious. I stayed in the Pegasus room which has it's own spacious terrace. I chose this room partly for the seclusion and because I was travelling alone but I did also spend some time down at the pool which was delightful. I enjoyed a wine tasting and an olive oil tasting, both were excellent and so informative. I have been putting olive oil on pineapple, ice-cream, chocolate - you name it - since I came home! I used the gym a few times to try and counteract the calories from all of the superb food and cocktails. I'm not much of a gym goer but it was very well equipped. Finally, the staff were all so friendly and helpful and I grew to really like them during my stay. Particular thanks to Kostis, Irini, Stelios, Arkis, Michael, Anthi, and Perocles - apologies for any spelling mistakes! I dream about the Kapsaliana Village and I hope I am lucky enough to stay there again soon.

We had a wonderful time at Kapsaliana Village Hotel. The service and facilities were excellent. Our room was spacious and a private outdoor living area was a great addition to the room. The property was a historic olive oil mill but has been converted into a hotel and retains its heritage features and offers all the modern conveniences in a tranquil setting. We highly recommend staying at Kapsaliana.

The hotel is located up in the hills, far away from the hustle and bustle. If you like nature, the outdoors, trekking, or running, it’s a perfect choice. Lovely paths take you past small farms with sheep and goats — charming! The hotel is exceptional in every way. Hats off to the architect, who managed to preserve the essence and spirit of the old olive mill while making it beautifully modern. Truly a remarkable place. The restaurant is just fantastic — traditional Greek food with a modern twist. There wasn’t a single dish we didn’t like. The staff is exceptional: kind, friendly, helpful, and always looking after you. Special thanks to Stelios, who also hosted the wine tasting for us — it was very special! We will definitely come back another time!

There needs to be a rating above excellent as this resort was world class. From the food, rooms to the hospitality everything was top rate. The resort is beautiful and relaxing. I love being surrounded by nature in a beautiful setting. The daily breakfast spread was one of the best I ever had. Already planning my next trip back!

Possibly one of the best hotel experiences you can have on Crete. Unique concept, beautiful area of the hotel and incredible views and nature in closest proximity. If you're looking for something a bit different on Crete, try this location. I enjoyed the food in Kapsaliana a lot. The staff have been a huge help with my travelling and sightseeing
