Adelaerthoeve Logies & Ontbijt

This B&B is like nothing else I've ever seen. It is inside a World War II airplane hanger built by the Germans. The hangar is open, with no doors, just a giant roof. When you arrive you may wonder where the rooms are, but there are doors along the edge of the giant hangar that open into rooms/and or hallways to rooms. The rooms are gorgeous, very tastefully designed, an intriguing combination of modern design and classic furnishings. There was very nice art on the walls, and little touches of craft in the furnishings. The color scheme is artistic grays and other earth tones. It feels very elegant and homey at the same time. Our room had a very comfortable king-size bed. The room had a full size couch and a small round table with two chairs where you could eat. Behind the bedroom there was a kitchenette with a stove, oven and mini-fridge., with some dishes and cooking equipment. Our room was like a small apartment, not like a hotel room. It is very spacious, about 400 square feet. The bathroom was off the hall leading into the bedroom. It was good size. The shower had plenty of hot water. There were two doors to a patio, one near the couch and another near the kitchenette. The patio had chairs. It was a lovely setting and made the room feel even more spacious. We had breakfast in the breakfast area where we checked in. There are about six tables. Some guests had breakfast delivered to their rooms as there are good tables for eating in the room. The breakfast included a basket of breads and croissants, a plate of sliced meat and cheese, yogurt with granola, a hard boiled egg, and orange juice. Everything was tasty. Simone is an enchanting and warm hostess. It was a delight to talk with her. There is so much pride in their hospitality. This is one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed at, and the most different. It is out in the country, but less than five miles from Arnhem. Truly a unique and relaxing experience.
