Holiday Inn Ashford Central, an IHG Hotel

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights, during a sightseeing trip around Kent. Nice central location, with a large carpark and plenty of spaces. Our room was on the first floor (no lift but this was fine as we have no mobility issues) and was a very large size. The room was very clean and well presented with a nice amount of toiletries. Housekeeping left the room looking very nice and tidy too. Even though we were quite close to the motorway, the noise wasn’t too loud. Breakfast was fair, typical cooked breakfast, cereals, yogurt and toast available along with 3 choices of juice and a coffee machine. Not too many places to sit, but between 8-9 it wasn’t too busy and after 9 it was nice and quiet. All staff were helpful and polite, especially one lady doing breakfast service who was chatting to everyone like she had known them for years. Dinner choice wasn’t great, we had 2 curries which were okay, but quite pricey for the quality. Only issue I had was the lights in the hallways were not automatic and as such the light leaked in through the door, and the doors were very heavy resulting in very loud bangs each time someone closed their doors. Due to the proximity to the channel tunnel and Dover, obviously people were coming and going at all hours, so the noise from slamming doors did keep us up slightly. Overall, we would stay in this hotel again if we came back down to Ashford. Thank you

Aside from a couple of issues Kelly, Caitlin and Marta meant this trip surpassed our expectations. From booking to departure nothing was too much trouble. With two young babies this makes all the difference. Spacious room, two cots, kids eat free, convenient parking. Location suited us with trips planned to Leeds castle and Port Lympne. Staff friendliness was great from all but especially Caitlin who was always on hand at dining times and helped with our girls. On site playground old but handy. Only minor issues were the early maintenance work / noise on our first morning, room servicing on first day and some confusion about late check out. All in all, highly recommend!
