The bad reviews are accurate. We've just arrived and we already want to leave. We've stayed at many Havens before and never visited one this bad. I'm trying not to be biased based on previous reviews but the place is an absolute dump. In the caravan, I'm pretty sure every piece of upholstery has a stain on it. There's brown stains all over the mattresses and broken bits all around the place. Every window was open on arrival and that's because the place has a strong smell of urine. The pillows, linen, duvets all smell of it - it's vile. Facilities, there's cigarette buds and bits of rubbish everywhere. I haven't even visited the pool yet but I'm already talking myself out of it. Within 30 minutes of being here, we went to reception to move caravans but apparently the place is fully booked. To get a refund you need to have the caravan recleaned, if you're still unhappy, you need a full inspection which feels predecided before it's happened. We arrived at 3pm and took over 4 hours to just get the mattresses changed and the carpets recleaned. I don't know where the smell of urine is coming from but wouldn't be surprised if it's embedded in the walls at this point. Wish we'd booked elsewhere as would rather sleep in the car at this point. For anyone suggesting this place is great/clean, they've either been extremely lucky or are positioned in the park with low foot traffic. The reception was filled of people all complaining about the same or similar issues. I wouldn't return even if it were free.

Dirty stains all over carpets, sofas, pillows and duvets, facilities missing from van, weren’t even given the van we booked (even though we reported it), broken blinds (which were then dumped on top of the kitchen cupboard), furniture hidden in cupboards). Then lied and said blind issue was resolved during our stay (which it wasn’t!) and told no compensation would be be granted. Won’t be back.

Stayed in emerald caravan first impressions Lovely caravan and view Few things missing Towels , hairdryer strainer for pasta Went to reception dropped of all missing stuff. Broken mirror lights in bathrooms Spot lights and n decking if working would have been Amazing as entrance was at bk of caravan so was extremely dark. Shelves in bathrooms to cover water cistern. Fire in living room would keep tripping after 30 sec . Milk shelve in fridge broken For price we paid would not expect as many things broken. Beds in pictures looked like full size proper bed unfortunately they were normal caravan beds reason for upgrade was the beds. Only negative we had really. Best entertainment I have seen at a haven in a very long time the staff could actually sing without hurting my ears and production was good. Lovely park Security were on the ball constantly Staff were so friendly Everything very expensive food drink ect But had a lovely time

We stayed at Craig Tara for 4 nights in July. Whilst we enjoyed the activities we did and the evening entertainment (we thought this was fantastic) we thought the pool was very tired and dirty, especially the changing rooms. We also thought the lodge we were staying in was very poor given we’d paid extra for an Emmerald lodge. For example, the carpets were filthy, the beds weren’t made up properly, the kick board on the kitchen fell down, the lights flickered and there were previous guests’ underwear in some of the drawers in the main bedroom. Some of these issues were resolved when we mentioned them to staff but really we don’t think we should have needed to. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly and the play parks were good, although only one swing for older children in the main play park seemed a little rubbish. We weren’t impressed with the amount of litter around the site which was attracting seagulls and there was broken glass on the bath down to the beach for 2 days of our stay. Overall we did have a good time but I don’t think we’d be in a hurry to go back.

Feel I need to write this review after all the bad ones I've read on here. Sad to hear so many people have had a negative experience but we have just returned from our second family holiday to Craig Tara and we had a brilliant time. The Silver caravan was perfectly clean when we arrived and had everything we needed. The kids loved the pool; so much to do and loads of lifeguards on duty, all working hard to keep everyone safe. The kids took part in lots of activities and the staff were brilliant with them, very friendly and supportive. We ate at Chopstix and Burger King, both were fine for an easy tea. We didn't do much of the entertainment but did love the Bingo Bonanza. It seemed there was lots on for younger kids. The shop is well stocked and the staff were chatty. I would agree that the beach is not the cleanest, but I'm not sure how much the beach itself is the responsibility of the site? If you're looking for 5 star luxury, you're obviously not going to find it in a caravan park but for some good family fun, this is a great site.

Caravan was nice, we upgraded to gold, no complaints with that. Everything is very expensive. Wife left a expensive watch, necklace and her makeup in a drawer in caravan when we left, tried calling twice but on hold for close to an hour both times, emailed twice but no reply, had a friend visit the following week to ask about it but the knew nothing about it………absolute joke of a place!!!

We arrived at the holiday and checked into our caravan only to find a smell of a blocked sewer inside. We raised this with 'Jen' the manager at Reception who said that it will get fixed today. That part I understand the negative part of was that Jen was extremely rude and confrontational and had no empathy. When I went to ask if anything has been done she said you aren't the lead guest so she effectively said on your bike. Reading through the comments Jen seems to pop up in the negative feedback. This just put a dark cloud over the whole holiday which should be fun, stress free with friendly people. Manners cost nothing but a lot was paid for this holiday.

I recently stayed at Craig Tara in a Silver Grade caravan (5 Alloway Village), and I’m extremely disappointed by the experience. On arrival, we discovered a bed bug infestation—a serious health and hygiene issue. I reported it immediately to reception around 9:30am, only to be informed that pest control was booked for next week. We were offered an alternative apartment, but it wasn’t available until 4pm, leaving us stranded for the majority of the day with no safe place to stay. As the accommodation is self-catering, we brought all our own food—including frozen items—which had to be stored in our car boot to avoid further contamination. Much of it spoiled. We were forced to buy food unexpectedly and incurred extra expenses we hadn’t budgeted for. The lack of urgency and support was shocking. Despite showing photo and video evidence, we received no meaningful apology or resolution on site. A relaxing getaway quickly became stressful and costly. I’ve contacted Haven’s customer service team requesting a full refund and compensation. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will be escalating further and sharing my experience with the press and across social media to prevent other guests from going through this. Would not recommend until they address serious sanitation and customer care issues.
