The Cubes Ella
"The owner was very friendly and polite, the room was nice, and it was quiet to sleep."
Ella, Nine Arch Holiday Resort
"good for relaxing and peace of mind"
Moi Ella by DBI
"This is a modern hotel in a quiet and beautiful location but some distance from Ella town. Generally good, clean and well organised however the standard (budget) rooms are rather small. There is a beautiful infinity swimming pool. There is also a viewing point on the top floor to see the sunrise. Staff were good and attentive."
Olive Bungalow - Jetwing Select
"Overall it was a very nice and cozy place.Staff was really nice too.We really enjoyed the stay despite rainy weather. However needs to improve a couple of things: 1. Food-Dinner was really good. However the quality of breakfast need to improve especially the taste 2.Cleanliness of the bathroom towels"
Andriyala
"We found this beautiful place throug social media, and honestly it was even better than we expected🙏🙏 Andriyala looks exactly same like the photos, even more beautiful in real life. The surroundings are so peaceful and relaxing, perfect for a couplee. Rooms were clean and comfy, views are just amazing, and the staff were very friendly and helpful all the time. Really happy we discovered this place for our honeymoon 🙏 Would love to come again for sure."
Ella Ridge View
"We booked Ridge View Hotel for one night during our trip to Nuwara Eliya, expecting a comfortable place to rest. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the staff member at Upper flow asked, “What are you looking for?” which gave us the impression that our reservation had not been properly noted. We had already paid an advance payment as requested by the hotel. Our first disappointment was the lack of parking facilities. The second and most concerning issue was the cleanliness of the room. The room was very untidy, with dust visible throughout, which was unacceptable. Within half an hour of checking in, I raised these concerns with the hotel owner. We were offered an upgrade to a deluxe room, but only if we paid an additional LKR 2,000. Since the condition of the room did not meet our expectations, we decided to leave the hotel instead. When requesting a refund of our advance payment, the hotel refused to return the full amount. Only LKR 1,000 was refunded, while the remaining balance was withheld. Overall, this experience negatively affected our trip. Customer service should be more professional, polite, and efficient, and greater attention should be given to cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this hotel to our friends or family."
Ella Red Rock
"First of all, the breakfast was very delicious. It was a good idea to ask for a Sri Lankan style breakfast. I think the female staff member is a very good cook. They make fresh, hot meals every time. The location is a bit of a walk, but it's not a problem at all. The room is clean and spacious, and the shower is solid. I'm surprised that the price is so low. You can also see the morning sun from your room window. All the staff are also kind. I would definitely like to visit again when I come to Sri Lanka."
Misty Elegance - Ella.
"The location is excellent. It's within walking distance of a street with restaurants. There's a supermarket and laundry shop nearby, which was very convenient. There's a slight incline, but it's paved and there's no soil erosion, so it's fine even on rainy days. However, some of the alleys are narrow, so you need to be careful when entering and exiting by car. The room was clean, and even though the outside temperature was low, the shower water pressure and temperature were perfect, making for a comfortable stay. The amenities—shampoo, body soap, and a large bath towel—were sufficient. I was very satisfied. They quickly arranged a tuk-tuk to Nine Arches, and the price didn't seem high. It's a good mid-range hotel."
Suriya Haven Homestay
"Chill Homestay. 100% recommended."

The Capoe House
"had 3 nights in Capoe House in April 2025. The rooms are situated in a picturesque setting high up in the hills about 15minutes up a steep road. The rooms themselves are very nice and the service in the accommodation is excellent. You are isolated but easy enough to organise a day trip out like we did in a pickup and drop off at door tuk tuk who took us up to Ella to see some of the local attractions such as the 9 Arches Bridge and Waterfall. Captive for dinner and breakfast but the food was good. Is very relaxing and in a great setting. Just be aware if you are intending to spend the time at the house no TV and Wifi is a bit hit and miss but not really what you're going to stay here for. Great experience overall"
Thotalagala
"Had a fantastic 3 night stay at Thotalagala in the Sir Thomas Lipton suite and couldn't recommend it more - it was so spacious and comfortable. This is an exceptional boutique hotel set in the hills of the tea growing region. What really sells this hotel is the view - stupendous at any time of the day. The grounds staff could not have taken any more care in looking after the outdoor area and pool. On arrival we were greeted by the manager, Seshaya who could not have been more welcoming and put us immediately at ease whilst showing us round the hotel. The food was outstanding be it breakfast, lunch, dinner or afternoon tea! Best beetroot soup we have ever had anywhere in the world!! The dining room table seated everyone staying in the hotel and it was lovely to meet others staying there and hearing about their adventures. Every member of staff, but in particular Kanth and Janaka, couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was as special as it could be. Kanth makes a very good Gunpowder cocktail! Customer service is second to none outthinking us at every turn as all the best boutique hotels appear to do. The hotel arranged a trip by tuk tuk trip to Lipton's seat and the local tea factory. The guide was very informative and enthusiastically shared his insight into the workings of the tea plantations, what was expected of the workers and stopped to illustrate this along the way. If you are looking for an upmarket, relaxing boutique hotel where you can recharge your batteries and where the world appears to revolve around you in the nicest possible way - this is definitely it. Would give them 6 stars if we could!"
Jetwing Warwick Gardens, A Luxury Reserve
"The welcome we received from Gayan and his team when we arrived, the location which is so tranquil. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking. Our room was perfect, everything catered for and it looked out over the garden. We had a tour of the tea plantation, everything explained about the process, which was fascinating. Each meal we had was delicious and portions perfect. Overall wonderful experience."
98 Acres Resort & Spa
"This hotel was a wonderful facility where I could enjoy panoramic beautiful views and fresh ingredients, including vegetables grown on the hotel grounds. I was also soothed by the many birds, especially the peacocks. The oil massage at the spa was also very pleasant. I'd love to visit again."
Area 4 Eco Cubes
"Very friendly people, clean hotel. Good service from Palinda he gives ultimate holiday feelings. Rooms clean Area amazing, by nature i give a 10+ Peacefully place"
Villa Lé Maas Tota by 98 Acres
Living Heritage Koslanda
"This was a magical place to stay. We were lucky that Lucy the owner was there during our stay. What her and her late husband have created (and she is still creating) on this 80 acre piece of land is nothing short of amazing. Lucy was full of local knowledge and history. She was extremely generous with her time for her guests as well as delightful to speak to. She is properly hands on too with the development and upkeep of this Estate. Stunning scenery, including tea plantations in the far distance, a waterfall that you can walk/climb to and plenty of nature to soak up. The staff were lovely & helpful. Our accommodation was beautiful and spacious. All in all a sanctuary to chill and relax at but with lots of places to see and visit that aren’t too far away should you wish to explore."
Clio Ella Resort
"One of the best places on earth I hu been to. From the time u step in till the end of your stay the love and care the staff share is so amazing. Everyone is so caring to your needs. Ajith is funny and very knowledgeable about everything. He has so many stories to share Lalith takes care of the Food and Beverages side. Best attitude he carries around.. Isuru is there to help with any adventures you want to do.. with all this said ... I have to mention the 2 fur babies (Bruno boy and Nanga) that greets you everyday.. if you are lucky one of them will even ride the cable car and the truck with u to the drop off point and say goodbye...🥲"
Wishing Tree Boutique Resort Haputale
Melheim Resort & Spa Haputale - An Infinite Escape into the Paradise
"Fantastic service led by Dilan! Greta spot and food was outstanding. The view is superb from the room and the pool area as well. Really enjoyed the stay."
Anasa Wellness Resort
"Fantastic room with no issues. Lovely view of tea plantation and hills. Great staff and friendly Restaurant meal absolutely stunning but ate alone in large room so not much atmosphere. Breakfast was the same but with one guest only in the room. Meals were included and were extremely tasty. There is no alcohol served but the non alcoholic cocktails were delicious. Just a bit of a pity we didn’t see many other guests while our stay. Certainly worth the price but be aware of the journey to the hotel via the tight village road. Our driver did say he was with eight others in one room really odd!"
Mapakada Village - Mahiyanganaya
"Wonderful stay at Mapakada Village. The staff were wonderful and the location was excellent. We had 2 lake trips, evening and early morning and saw wonderful birds and an elephant. Overall a lovely stay"
Jetwing Hoffmann Bungalow
"Well enjoyed stay at Hoffman bungalow and hoping to come again for a another vacation."
Dinaro Guest
"It's good because you can walk from the station. The downside is that it's about a 10-minute walk from the downtown area. The facilities are satisfactory for the price. There is no restaurant."
Top Mountain Resort
"The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained, giving great comfort after a long day. The environment was very calm, peaceful, and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful nature. The hotel is lovely and a nice place to relax. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and gave good service during our stay."
