Maafushi Hotels with Balcony

"Cleanliness – 4/5 The room itself was very clean and well maintained. However, if you choose to have breakfast outdoors, there are quite a lot of mosquitoes and flies. Overall, the room cleanliness is good, just be prepared for insects in the outdoor dining area. Location – 4/5 The hotel is located slightly behind the main area, so it’s farther from popular spots and restaurants. But the upside is that it’s much quieter and more peaceful, which we appreciated. Service – 1/5 Initially, we felt the service deserved 5 stars because the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience with a new kitchen staff member that changed our overall impression. When ordering breakfast, his attitude was already unfriendly. Later, while waiting for breakfast to be served, we moved outside to enjoy the sea view. He loudly shouted at us saying we could not sit side-by-side and had to sit facing each other. His tone was unnecessarily rude. There were many empty tables and we would have cooperated if he had simply explained politely — and in fact, we still complied. Because of the mosquitoes and flies outdoors, we decided to move back inside before the food arrived. He then shouted again, complaining that we kept changing seats, even though the restaurant only had two tables occupied （included us）and breakfast had not even been prepared yet. The most uncomfortable moment was when he came to ask if we were checking out that day and strongly insisted that we check out 15 minutes earlier than the 12pm-official time. We explained that we would check out on time as agreed during check-in, but he kept insisting that 15 minutes earlier “makes no difference.” When I asked if we could then check out 15 minutes later (since late check-out costs USD10 per hour), he could not answer but continued pressuring us to leave early. When we raised this to the reception (senior staff), he repeatedly came over and loudly denied everything and continued insisting it was “only 15 minutes.” This was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Amenities – 3/5 Nothing particularly special, but acceptable for a budget hotel. Overall A clean and peaceful budget hotel, but the experience was unfortunately affected by one staff member’s rude behavior."

"Это самый дальний отель от бикини бич, но идти где-то 5-7 минут. Сам остров небольшой, где-то 1200м на 500м. Пляж только один (бикини бич). В море много мертвых коралов и камней, поэтому покупайте тапочки. Море очень мелкое - до 1м. На острове много экскурсий, ресторанов с живой музыкой, магазинов. Персонал отеля очень доброжелательный. На завтраки отель сам приносит Вам еду (нет шведсвого стола). Мы сначала думали, что завтрак скудный, но потом мы переезжали на другой остров, где отель стоил в 2 раза дороже и сравнивая с тем, могу сказать, что тут завтрак был просто огонь)))"
