On arrival we were greeted by the landlord, who made us feel extremely welcome. He showed us around the restaurant and communal lounge areas and then on to our room. You can see as soon as you walk in that the place is kept spotlessly clean and has been decorated to a very high standard indeed. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean with a lovely en suit, equipped with a very powerful shower. The bed was also very comfy. What made the stay so special (besides the hospitality of the landlord) was undoubtedly the breakfast. This was requested each day by ticking the items you want on the request sheet provided, which has a large selection of items available. It’s then left for the landlord and a perfectly cooked breakfast is set down for you next morning. He claims he has never worked as a chef, but I’m not so sure, I’ve never had eggs so perfectly presented. Anyone who wanted something not listed, never seemed a problem either, as he went out of his way to try and provide it. Our first time in Ballater and it is filled with very friendly people, a few of which we met in one or two of the bar/restaurants we visited during our stay. Without question, the best B&B we have ever stayed in and I would highly recommend.

The place is lovely, very tidy and lovely decoration with a truly Scottish feel to it. I really enjoyed the breakfast which had many options and even accepted special requests. Overall a great experience with lovely staff also.

This place is amazing! I’ve been in the UK for two weeks and this has been by far the best place I’ve stayed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The breakfast is over the top! Everything is just perfect! I liked it so much I’m going to stay another night. You can’t go wrong here.

Clean , cosy , warm , lovely breakfast, happy helpful land lady , central location , great choice .For a few nights base for exploring local area , perfect choice . Safe , well lit area , parking outside.

Netherley Guest House is conveniently situated in the centre of Ballater, so all amenities like pubs, restaurants, shops etc. are very close. Nevertheless, the house is very quiet and you always get a parking space in front of the B&B. The rooms were spacious and clean, an electric heater would have been provided on request. Breakfast was excellent and Victoria was always friendly and helpful and ensured that all requests were met immediately.

A gem of a place. In the centre of Ballater and very convenient for shops and eating places. I had a warm, clean and very comfortable room with a desk (total bonus on a working trip) and fast wifi. Victoria made me an amazing breakfast so I could face long days and was always welcoming and helpful. I do a lot of these trips but rarely write reviews; does that give a hint of how good Netherley is? I'll be back.

Fantastic place to stay in Ballater,rooms were perfect & very comfy & clean.After a last minute change & problems with another b&b in the village it wasn't a problem for Victoria to accommodate another 4 lads at the Netherley guest house. A golfed out drunken weekend helped by lovely breakfast in the mornings.We will definitely be back again next year 😁
