"Wonderful holiday at the Windermere Hotel with our dog!
Our lovely clean room with crisp white bedding was in the annex so vey quiet and only 10 yards away from the dog friendly bar which also served bar snacks for a very reasonable price.
We had breakfast included in the price and the dog was allowed to sit with us next to the dining hall with tables all set up for dog owners.
All of the staff from the minute we checked in were very friendly and helpful.
We will be back!"

"I was afraid that the Lake District was too busy to book a hotel. I booked this hotel very early. The facts proved to be correct. There are too many people in the Lake District! We arrived at one o'clock in the afternoon, about twenty minutes walk from Windermere train station, which is a bit far away. This hotel is actually in Bowness, closer to the lake. You can't check in when you arrive, you need to wait until two o'clock in the afternoon. Our family had to wait to check in in the afternoon sun, and ate the sandwiches we brought with our suitcase as the table. Check in on time at two o'clock. The room is on the third floor, there is no elevator, the stairs are very narrow, and it is a bit difficult to carry luggage. It’s a pity that the room is good, although it is an old house, the facilities are relatively new and the bed is relatively large. It's less than ten minutes' walk from the lake, much closer than the train station. There are small supermarkets and restaurants near the hotel, which is more convenient. It must be noted that luggage storage is marked on the website. In fact, it is not allowed to deposit. It is six pounds at the visitor center, only until 5 pm."

The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude.
The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens.
We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that.
Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again."

"I traveled to the UK with my children during the summer, and I was deeply impressed by this hotel in the Lake District. It was originally an unintentional choice, but the result was very pleasant. "My wife and I stayed at Burn How for 4 nights. Immediately we found the staff most welcoming and friendly. The pleasant atmosphere was maintained at breakfast throughout our stay. The spacious room- with everything you might need- was part of a block of chalets set romantically amongst some beautiful trees. If we return to Bowness we will look no further than Burn How for accommodation.

The classic big bed, the room was very small, there was no place to open the suitcase, and there was a fire drill at 1am in the middle of the night, which scared me half to death. This hotel is suitable for self-driving, on the hillside, 20 minutes walk to the lake, and about 20 minutes walk to the town center.

XXinwaThe room is very stylish. Our room was fine except for the street which was noisy. I especially recommend breakfast. You need to book with the front desk before 6pm the night before. It is freshly made in the morning and very delicious! You can't miss it. The hotel is in a good location, walking distance to the train station and Bowness.

HHuxiaojitadieLet me talk about it one by one. First, the scenery is unbeatable. It is on the top of a mountain. After reading the introduction, I found that it should be a holiday resort bought by a group. In addition to the hotel, there are wineries, massage rooms and other single-family houses for rent. There is also a small artificial lake where you can go boating and horseback riding in summer. Second, the house is an old-fashioned wooden structure with poor sound insulation. The thick carpet creaks when you walk on it. You can clearly hear people passing by and talking at the door. The house has no air conditioning but heating. It was quite comfortable when I went there in late October, but I don’t know how it is in summer. I used the key shown below, which is quite cute. Third, it’s still the above problem. It’s on the top of the mountain. It’s very convenient for local British people to drive there in ten minutes. But it’s troublesome for travelers like me. It takes at least one hour to walk up and another hour to walk down. There is no UBER in the town of Bonness. You have to call to take a taxi. Moreover, there will be no taxis if you are too early or too late. For me who can hardly speak English, it’s very annoying. It gets dark at five o’clock in the UK in winter. I had to walk back from the town of Bonness after dinner. There were no lights and no people in the second half of the road. It was pitch black. I was hiking in the rain alone with only the sound of birds singing in my ears. Fortunately, I am a boy But it was also a different experience. It's still not safe for girls. It's not recommended to walk at night. Fourth, the front desk service was very good. The lady with glasses on the first day was also polite. I basically couldn't speak English, but she was still patient. The best one was the front desk lady in Rome, Italy, who I met on the second day. It seemed that she had been to Beijing and Shanghai and could speak Chinese. Thank you. She patiently taught me to order breakfast. I had to transfer to London from Windermere Station early in the morning on the third day. It was too early, and the taxi I called for me on the phone couldn't come. She actually drove me to Windermere Railway Station in the morning and then went back to work. Otherwise, I would have to walk down the mountain in the dark for more than an hour at six in the morning. I would like to say thank you very much here. I hope the Italian Rome lady will come to China again when she is free. In the evening, there will be a special regular masseur to ask if you need a massage before going to bed. On the first day, there was a beautiful woman. My English was too poor to understand what she meant. I thought she was cleaning the house. Later, I didn't ask for a massage and didn't tip her. I was really sorry. On the second night, there was a strong British man. I understood it after a while. I was afraid that I was not used to it, so I didn't ask for a massage. I gave a tip but declined it politely. It was very good. Fourth, let's talk about the hotel price The lowest price is over 3000 RMB per night. The price is not cheap. Ctrip said that breakfast is not included, but it is actually included. The breakfast is very good, a typical English breakfast. You can pay the waiter 5 pounds to send it to the room. In conclusion, if you have enough budget and want to relax and enjoy the different scenery of the British Lake District, it is definitely the first choice. But next time I go there, I will definitely translate my domestic driver's license and rent a car, otherwise my legs will be broken.

PPriyanka BajirajThe property and the ambience is lovely. The view from the restaurant garden is very pleasant and beautiful. The room size, bathroom size and amenities were good. We faced 1 major problem to be precise which made us a bit sore.
Cleanliness - the room was clean except for the carpet. It didn’t feel like it was vacuumed. There was probably a pet staying in that room before us and there was a lot of hair on the carpet. I understand it is a pet friendly property and I have absolutely no problem with that. But cleaning the room properly before the next checkin is a basic expectation. We couldn’t step on the floor without our feet being covered with hair.
Apart from that, everything else was very good. Breakfast was also good and the customer service was very polite and hospitable as well.
