Le Palacete Hotel Gracia District, Sonder

First stay at a Sonder Hotel. Garden room. Entry door system VERY erratic - multiple tries to get it to open. Elevator VERY antiquated - if someone on the upper floors didn’t close it correctly, it didn’t function. Room refrigerator never worked (also true in at least 2 other rooms). TV channels VERY limited. Patio furniture VERY worn. Location acceptable, but generally “middle class “. At best a 2 star hotel.

A horrible experience. Do not go to this hotel. This beyond-rich international company do not pay for even one member of staff to be there after 4pm, as a security/support person for the guests. They keypad you have to use has most of the numbers worn away, there is no light above to help either. I was stuck out on this back street, no lighting, trying again and again with the code I was assured would work. I rang the help number and was given another code, which didn't work. After 3 or 4 codes being sent and not working I demanded that someone be sent to my aid. I was told ok, but then much later, no, they didn't have anyone. Finally, I was let into the hotel remotely, by the person on the phone, but I did not dare leave the building again, so my whole evening plan was ruined. Disgusting. I wish a complete refund for my one night stay.

Le Palacete We enjoyed our stay at Le Palacete. Our room was pleasant, well furnished and very clean. It was spacious and there was also an outside terrace which was lovely. We were only there for one night, but walked around the local area in the evening and the next morning and it felt very safe. I found the people in the shops and bars to be really pleasant.

Private! Easy check in/out. Accommodation had everything you needed. Great local neighborhood with many restaurants and businesses.

This is a fine hotel. It is not staffed, however. Entry and keys are handled electronically. We had difficulty using the outdoor keypad. We saw another couple who also had trouble getting the key pad to work. I did not like there not being a front desk and staff. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and served in a lovely courtyard.
