"It's a very beautiful hotel in the style of the turn of the century, so don't expect modern rooms. There are paintings hanging everywhere, which emphasizes the hotel's charm. Unfortunately, the bathing area is fenced off and very small, not really suitable for serious swimmers. There's only one set of steps to get into the lake for swimming. The prices at the hotel bar are not for the average budget, and the prices at the restaurants outside the hotel, especially those by the water, are not at all reasonable. I would even go so far as to say it's somewhat comparable to cafeteria food. Have a nice holiday everyone! 🙋🏽♂️"

"My intended booking was at splendid hotel in lugano but once I went there I realised that it was at baveno 😅 ,so I took a taxi for 350 euro to go there . The front desk upgraded my rooms to lake views for 80 euro/night. The gym is for 12 euro /person, the breakfast is about average nothing special. The front desk are nice people but they put an extra service charge for that(optional). The view from the balcony was beautiful."

"The room is incredibly nice !! It’s very clean and the receptions are super nice and friendly. It’s the best the hotel in this town and definitely a good deal to this price. It’s not in the main town in Maggiore - you will expect to ride the train for a few minutes (every other hour), however if you need cab the receoption can call one for you. Highly recommend."

"This beautiful family run hotel has a 3 star grading, but I would give it 4 stars. Superb location on the waterfront overlooking Lake Maggiore, with beautifully maintained gardens with outdoor swimming pool. Being a traditional building, there was plenty of lounge space to relax in air conditioned rooms. The hotel is only 150 metres from the town centre, where you can get numerous boats to nearby islands and beyond. The whole staff are very friendly and cheerful at all times, particularly the dining room waiters and waitress, with great knowledge of English speaking. Breakfast has plenty of choice of good quality food, being self service it’s nice to sit outside in the garden with good access to the food area. The rooms are comfortable, we had a lovely walk-in shower, enough wardrobes and shelves for clothes etc. Air conditioning unit had easy controls and was extremely quiet. There is a good sized car park, there is a lift to all three floors. We would really recommend this hotel in a delightfully peaceful resort of Baveno, much more relaxing than its nearby larger and noisier neighbour of Stresa."

"We stayed at Residence Carl and Do Baveno Hotel which was the first stop of our Italian Glory tour with Trafalgar. Our 2 bedroom suite was recently renovated. It was spacious and open with 3 balconies overlooking beautiful Lake Maggiore. Couldn’t ask for more. Unfortunately, my husband suddenly became unwell just prior to departing from home. By the time we arrived in Baveno, his symptoms had not improved. With the help from the front desk, they were able to find a Doctor that was willing to meet my husband in our suite. The Dr. asked many questions and was able to prescribe a prescription. Each day his health improved. If it wasn’t for the quick action of the staff, we would not have been able to continue with our planned tour. We will forever be grateful for the care shown by the staff at Residence Carl and Do Baveno. Thank you!!!"
