Beijing Miyun District 5-star Hotels

The time spent at the Grand Bay Beijing Hotel was simply fabulous. I am a very experienced traveler and have been to dozens of countries, but I can confidently say that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Every area here is thought out: a high-tech room of impeccable cleanliness with a pillow menu to choose from and 6 lighting options. Excellent dietary cuisine in the restaurant and a huge selection of dishes for breakfast. Very polite and customer-oriented attentive staff, they helped me with absolutely all my requests! But, of course, the highlight of the hotel is the impressive healing Ayurvedic center! The Head of the center, Dr. Balan is an experienced Ayurveda guru, with a tailored comprehensive program and the center's team, helped me restore my nervous system, restore immunity, and diagnose a chronic ailment that affected my quality of life, and all this just in 6 days! I mostly recommend this hotel to tired, overloaded residents of megacities, here you will simply find yourself in paradise! I will definitely come back more than once, huge thanks to the management and staff of the Grand Bay Beijing Hotel, who created this island of peace and relaxation on earth

Stayed 2 nights at the Gubei Wtown Resort. The resort is probably one of the larger resorts within the area of Gubei Watertown. Your coach or taxi will drop you at the Carpark (P2) outside the Watertown as no outside vehicles are allowed inside the Watertown. It is a short walk to the Visitor Centre where you can deposit your luggage and register for the hotel/resort/ boutique accommodation over here. Please note ”no drones” are allowed beyond this point. They will screen through every luggage. After which you can take the Watertown Shuttle to your resort which is only a couple of mins. If you have big luggage, they will send directly to the hotel you booked as well. The resort is beautiful a blend with ancient Chinese design with modern architecture. The room is immaculately adorned with traditional furniture, murals, artifacts and other traditional Chinese elements to exude the ancient town. It is very spacious too, truly luxurious! We bought the package which includes daily breakfast for 2, a dinner for 2, a spa (onsen) for 2, a handicraft experience either Kite making or lantern making for 1 and the Simatai Great Wall Ticket for 2 (hike up). There is a huge swimming pool within the hotel and a gym. Very under utilised. It is nice to have a swim after the Great Wall hike. In short, it is a very memorable stay the resort worth every penny of it.

I stayed with my family and friends. The environment was nice and the service was good. Any problems were solved in time. I especially praised the thoughtful service of Manager Ma Aimin, who was considerate of me who was physically challenged. Ms. Qi Xiaoyu at the breakfast restaurant Virginie was also very enthusiastic and provided excellent service. I was very satisfied. Thank you.

The hotel is huge with grand lobby, a five star hotel lobby. The room is however, quite basic and nothing to shout about. The beds are big and comfortable. We were ”upgraded” to another room with a section of view of the water town and great wall, but when we retuned to the room after water town tour, no more lights at water town and the great wall, lighting are off at 10 pm. Quite a long distance walking to Customer Service center of water town, and a long walk at the water town. We were immediately amazed by the beautiful scenery with so many photo shots. We walked all the way up to the cable car station of Simatai Great Wall at 6pm, managed to reach the Station 5 of the Great Wall at 640pm with a good view of sunset, and waited for lighting when sky turned dark. It was so beautiful up there. We could see the Water Town lighting from far. Cable car fare for hotel guests was RMB120 which I think it is worth to experience both the evening and night view of Great Wall. We felt it was unnecessary to climb the great wall again the next day although free tickets were given. Instead, we experienced the hot spring bath at 城上 (another hotel inside the water town), which I was amazed by the cleanliness, security, well organized multi-pool hot tubs. A tip to the cable car station: It is located at the far end of the water town, look for shuttle car at several exit of the water town to go straight to cable station without needing to walk all the way to and fro. Shuttle car is free for hotel guests. Another tip, restaurants are almost closed even before 9pm. There are few restaurants at another exit of the water town entrance, where hot food is still available at 10pm, a 24 hour Lawson is there too.

I took my parents and children to travel during the off-peak period. I specially chose a suite with a private hot spring. In general, I was very satisfied and the price was worth it. There are many advantages for everyone to discover. I am more satisfied with the room being large enough, with good lighting and ventilation. The private hot spring is hot spring water, and you can fill it with water at any time and soak it whenever you want. It is very convenient, and the service is even better. I didn’t feel it before because I didn’t have children, but now I feel that Gubei is too friendly to children! There are also special children’s products, and the panda toothbrush is absolutely praised. What is not very convenient is that our room is located on the elevator floor and one step down. The stairs are very high, and the experience of the elderly and children is very poor. The breakfast was set at 7:30 to 8 o’clock, but it came at 7 o’clock, which was too early... I was so sleepy, and the room was still very cold 🥶 There is no hot air air conditioner... But the heater was given (it doesn’t really work) But this is the best experience I have had in Gubei so many times, and it is also the first time I have children. It may be because of the children and the elderly, there are many conveniences.

A truely awesome hotel smack bang in the middle of town. It looks brand new, everything really clean and staff are awesome. The room we had was really large decorated in western style, with amazing view of the swimming pool and the simatai great wall. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was also huge with two sinks and separate cubicles for the toilet, bath tub and separate shower. Both room and toilet were immaculately clean. Breakfast was included as standard and was buffet with both Chinese and western options, just asweosme. You can get free shuttle from the car park to the tourist information centre where you can check in to the hotel, and then get on another free shuttle to the hotel. You can of course walk, takes about 20 mins from the tourist information centre. There is also free luggage delivery service to and from the hotel from the car park which is super convenient. Staying at the hotel means you get free entrance to Gubei water town, so you don't need to buy a separate ticket for that. There is also free entrance to the natural springs / spa included with the hotel stay. You will need to buy a separate ticket to visit simatai great wall though, however you do get a discount if you wish to join the night tour of the great wall.

Loved this hotel. Great location with a view of the Great Wall from the beautiful pool. The room is really nice with a patio. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and enjoyed both. Our stay included the park entrance fee and hot springs. We really liked walking around Watertown and had lunch at one of the shops. We took a cable car right before sunset to the Great Wall, and after a hike reached the Wall. It wasn't crowded and we spent quite a bit of time there before heading back down. At that point it was getting dark, and the lights on the Wall came on. Very beautiful sight, and we got great pictures. I would love to come back to this hotel and area again when we have more time.

The hotel is very clean and close to Sun Moon Island, which is very convenient for watching the drone show at night. The customer service lady is very enthusiastic and helped us lift the door curtain every time we entered and exited. The private sauna was very satisfying, especially for a kid who loves playing with water. It was perfect. The pool was filled with water, and the kid had so much fun that he shouted ”Don't check out, stay here forever”

Let me start with the biggest drawback. The shuttle bus cannot go directly to the hotel. You need to transfer, which is a bit troublesome. The hotel itself is in a good location, and you can enjoy a quiet place in the noisy scenic area. The room cleaning is really slow. I arrived at 3:15 on the first day but could not check in. I finally got the room card at 3:40. The next day, I was not in the room all morning. I came back at noon and the room was not cleaned. I had to call to remind them. This is really not right. The hotel is very close to the church on the top of the mountain. You can take a stroll to see the night view, which is very comfortable.

One of the best non-chain hotels we've stayed at. Less than 2 km from Tianmen Square. Less than a kilometer from metro 2 and 5 ❤️ Service Very nice and helpful
