"Nice hotel, stayed for 20 days, breakfast with eggs, sausages, meatloaf, a variety of different breads, various flavors of donuts, different flavors of juice, 2 flavors of coffee, three fruits, bananas, incense Orange, pear, 24 hours coffee bar, good bath water, swimming pool. There are several restaurants around for easy dining, opposite KFC, next to a steakhouse called HOSS’S, and a little further away, there are chopsticks in the Chinese noodles."

It’s an ideal homebase for hiking, fishing, hunting, paddling, birdwatching, cycling, skiing/snowboarding, tubing or simply reconnecting with nature. The Woods is an 1800-acre-community situated at the northern gateway to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Its location allows for easy access to four states—West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area, a nearly-23,000-acre tract of state land that includes an extensive trail network and opportunities is adjacent to The Woods, offering a wide variety of trees, plants and animals.
Cedar Loft sleeps 6 comfortably with three bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a Keurig, coffee maker, hand mixer, blender, toaster, can opener, pots & pans, dishes, cutlery, selection of coffee and tea, and basic kitchen spices. The living area has a smart TV with streaming capabilities, Xfinity cable, a DVD player, a large DVD movie selection and high speed internet/WiFi. There is no landline phone. Peaceful Pines is a beautiful, luxurious mid-century cabin where the main objective is relaxation. Great for a girls weekend, multiple family or generation trips! Plenty of room to stretch out and have your own space. We are less than 2 hours outside of DC, but it feels like a world away.

Although the cabin is the forefront to 23,000 acres of forest (Sleepy Creek Wildlife Reserve) you are a part of the larger community of cabins in the golfing resort ‘The Woods’. It has everything you could need for a relaxing time away- high speed internet, gorgeous views, and plentiful wildlife. The cabin's open floor plan is perfect for entertaining with a full kitchen opening to the living room’s two story vaulted ceiling. The cabin has 1 bedroom and an open loft with room for many people to sleep. There is a mudroom to put all of your bags, coolers, and whatever else you may bring. There is a cozy reading nook leading out onto a large panoramic deck. The private primary bedroom houses a queen size bed and closet. The loft has one queen bed, two twin beds, and a twin floor bed. We also provide a pack and play and highchair for our younger guests that may be staying.
The standard kitchen includes stainless steel appliances (including a full-sized refrigerator with freezer and oven with stove top), a traditional drip coffee maker, a toaster oven, toaster, microwave, blender, crockpot and all the pots, pans, and utensils you'll need. The living room has a flat screen HDTV with streaming services such as Netflix, and a wood stove for colder nights.

The cabin is also only 1 hour away from Whitetail Resort, known for snowboarding and skiing, as well as tubing for younger children. There are also many trails in the resort through the forest. You may see them driving through the neighborhood- which is one of our favorite things to explore and walk!
Being close to Berkeley Springs, WV it is near many natural hot spring baths. Shepherdstown, WV and Harpers Ferry (Bolivar), WV are nearby as well. Both historic areas offer restaurants and shopping that are a nice way to explore the area around you. Martinsburg, WV is 20 minutes away where you can ride the rail access via Amtrak and MARC across the state for amazing views. You can also take the train into DC for a day exploring museums and monuments as well!
The Woods Resort offers 36 holes of golf with mountain views as well as a full service spa and restaurant. There is a year round recreational center with an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as 2 outdoor pools. The cabin is a great getaway spot for couples, small families, and small groups of friends, as it has all the comforts of home in a beautiful forest setting.
Prep meals in the kitchen, which is outfitted with stainless steel appliances (please note: no dishwasher or garbage disposal), granite countertops, and basic cooking supplies like salt, pepper, and oil. You also have access to a grill on the deck, with propane provided. When you wake up, enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea on the deck with the Keurig and provided supplies (K-Cups, sugar, creamer packets). We also have a traditional drip coffee machine.
Make use of the high-speed WiFi to stream your favorite movies and shows on the smart TV's in the living room and main bedroom (please bring your own login). If you'd rather disconnect for a while, you can hang out in the hot tub or around the firepit, or take a walk down to the beautiful creek and listen to the sounds of nature for a while (the walk back up can be a little challenging). For the firepit, we always try to keep a good supply of firewood for our guests to use. Inside, keep warm on the vegan leather sofa by the fireplace and have fun with the board games.
If you venture out, there are 36 holes of golf, a spa, and a restaurant right within our community, The Woods. Beyond that, there are several charming towns with really good restaurants and nice shops nearby, including Berkeley Springs, which is one of the best small towns in the country. You can also hike the many trails in the area, tour local wineries and distilleries, and explore our history in Harpers Ferry. We provide our guests with a guidebook in the cabin, which contains our suggested restaurants and things to do.

Though we welcome up to two dogs per stay, please understand that there is often extra wear and tear and cleaning that comes with bringing them along. Therefore, we charge $75 per stay if you are bringing a pet. To include your them in your reservation, please select the number of pets you'll be bringing in the "add guests" section.
The cabin is easily accessible via paved roads. There is a big driveway where you can park several cars and a carport to keep your car protected if you'd like. The community clears snow off of the paved roads, but not the driveway, so if it snows a lot or icy conditions are forecasted, we would suggest parking at the top of the driveway (which is close to the cabin) if you don't have a 4WD. There is a snow shovel available just in case you need it. This is not normally a problem... we just want you to be aware of the weather so you can prepare if needed.
The cabin is baby friendly and has a high chair, pack 'n play, baby gate for the stairs, and outlet covers. Please be aware that the rails of the loft railing are spread apart wider than normal, which is great for the view out the back window, but not so much for unattended small children in the loft.
We have 2 outdoor security cameras - 1 in the carport and and 1 at the screen door. They are always on and record on motion for security purposes.
We have a strict NO SMOKING policy.

If you'd rather disconnect for a while, you can hang out in the hot tub or around the firepit, or take a walk down to the beautiful creek and listen to the sounds of nature for a while (the walk back up can be a little challenging). For the firepit, we always try to keep a good supply of firewood for our guests to use. Inside, keep warm on the vegan leather sofa by the fireplace and have fun with the board games.
If you venture out, there are 36 holes of golf, a spa, and a restaurant right within our community, The Woods. Beyond that, there are several charming towns with really good restaurants and nice shops nearby, including Berkeley Springs, which is one of the best small towns in the country. You can also hike the many trails in the area, tour local wineries and distilleries, and explore our history in Harpers Ferry. We provide our guests with a guidebook in the cabin, which contains our suggested restaurants and things to do.

Though we welcome up to two dogs per stay, please understand that there is often extra wear and tear and cleaning that comes with bringing them along. Therefore, we charge $75 per stay if you are bringing a pet. To include your them in your reservation, please select the number of pets you'll be bringing in the "add guests" section.
The cabin is easily accessible via paved roads. There is a big driveway where you can park several cars and a carport to keep your car protected if you'd like. The community clears snow off of the paved roads, but not the driveway, so if it snows a lot or icy conditions are forecasted, we would suggest parking at the top of the driveway (which is close to the cabin) if you don't have a 4WD. There is a snow shovel available just in case you need it. This is not normally a problem... we just want you to be aware of the weather so you can prepare if needed.
The cabin is baby friendly and has a high chair, pack 'n play, baby gate for the stairs, and outlet covers. Please be aware that the rails of the loft railing are spread apart wider than normal, which is great for the view out the back window, but not so much for unattended small children in the loft.
We have 2 outdoor security cameras - 1 in the carport and and 1 at the screen door. They are always on and record on motion for security purposes.
We have a strict NO SMOKING policy.

Get away without going far at our cozy, colorful, family-friendly cabin. Watch the sunset over the woods from the deck, cuddle up by the fireplace, or play ping-pong in our games room. Do some work in our office space overlooking the trees. Enjoy golf, pools, the spa, hiking and fishing, or explore the beautiful countryside of rural West Virginia. Best of all, our cabin is less than two-hours drive from D.C. and Baltimore, so you can feel like you're far away without a long drive.
The space
We designed this space to be bright but cozy, perfect for families or groups of friends to relax and have fun together. On the main level, you’ll find a bedroom with a full-sized bed, plus a bunk room with a twin over full bunk and a twin over twin trundle. There's also a spacious kitchen and dining room, living room, and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. There’s also a separate office space where you can get some work done while you’re away. From this floor, you can access the screened porch and deck overlooking the woods. Upstairs, you'll find a loft bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom. We've converted the detached garage to a games room, complete with a ping pong table, darts, and a custom built-in bar. There is also a firepit and outdoor grill for guests to use.
Guest access
Guests have full access to all of the amenities of our cabin, plus use of the community fishing and hiking trails.
Guests may purchase one-day pool/gym passes from us at cost for $6 each. Please request passes at least 24 hours before you need them. Guests ages 4 and under do not need a pass to use the pool when accompanied by an adult. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult when using the resort facilities.
Guests can also golf at The Woods Resort or use the spa for an additional fee (please visit the website directly to book a tee time or spa appointment).
Other things to note
We only accept bookings from guests with government IDs on their profiles, so please make sure you've uploaded your ID before requesting to book.
Please note that the 9th bed is a trundle bed under a twin that might be most comfortable for kids.
