Radha Cottage

Radha's Cottage is a lovely retreat, very well located at the end of the road in Matheran. It's a simple place, furnished largely with period furniture. The food is outstanding - the best I've had in 6 weeks of traveling in India. For those who are unfamiliar with Matheran as I was, a couple pieces of information: - The "toy train" runs very infrequently. Be sure to get a schedule if you plan to take it from the parking. - It's a 4.5km walk from the train station near the parking to Radha's. Don't believe the stationmaster if he tells you it's a 20 minute walk, it's an hour's walk. - It's still another 1.5km from the train station in the village to Radha's. If you've got a bag it's probably a good idea to get some help from a porter. - Sometimes the electricity goes out. When we stayed, these outages were brief, just a minute or 2. - Sometimes the water in the bathroom is dark brown. This surprised us one morning. It's dirt, and cleared during the course of the day.

I had an exceptional stay at Radha Cottage Heritage Resort in Matheran. This 125-year-old heritage property exudes vintage charm and offers a peaceful retreat amidst lush greenery. The ambience is serene, with a hilltop location that provides a quiet escape from city life. Sitting on the swing, listening to birds chirping in the morning and evening, was truly relaxing. The cottages are cozy and well-designed, blending old-world elegance with modern amenities. My room was spacious, clean, and had stunning forest views. The staff was warm, courteous, and always ready to assist, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food was the highlight—freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Every meal felt homely, with a perfect balance of flavors. The location is a little away from Matheran station, but the peaceful surroundings make it worth the walk. It's an ideal place to unwind, far from the noise and crowds. Overall, Radha Cottage Heritage Resort is a hidden gem, perfect for a relaxing getaway. With its vintage charm, excellent hospitality, and amazing food, I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Matheran.

Beautiful experience...! To start with we stayed ar Radha Cottage for 2 days , it was one of our best stay till date . It was truly a heritage property.exterior has heritage look and interior of rooms is combination of contemporary and modern design. Rooms -- neat and clean. Amenities -- swimming pool, children play area, indoor game section ( carrom, Ludo, Table tennis, Guitar to play, Books to read) Badminton, cricket available Beautiful seatout and zulas to relax Survice - 5 ⭐ Staff - 5 ⭐ Santaji, Raju were very helpful Food - 5 ⭐ Food was delicious and mouth watering... Menu was superb, hats off to the head chef, the taste was so good and like home made , no artificial colours and taste enhancers, its so nicely prepared and served. Location - its really feels like located in forest. Thats why almost 10 view points like Rani baag, chota platue, lake , etc are at walking distance. So calm and shirin property. If you want to experience silence and find space for your inner soul,want to relax with your loved ones and explore nature Radha cottage is the answer. Finally a big thanks to Mr. More sir( Manager )for his special attention for guests , proper guidance for sightseeing, Mr. Khedkar( owner )sir for his concern. Our recent stay at Radha Cottage was totally amazing. Right from the rooms to the food everything was just perfect! No chance of any complaints. The staff is friendly and very helpful even at odd hours they were present to help us. No issue with the cleanliness and hygiene at the property. Loved the stay and would definitely visit again very soon. Also, the advantage of the property is that it is 1 kms. away from the market so if you are a person who loves to stay in the nature and away from the city life and chaos of the market area then this is the right place. Don't think twice just book it!

I recently visited Radha Cottage with friends, and our experience was truly memorable. We stayed in the Heritage Bungalow, which perfectly blends charm and authenticity. The structure, with its preserved flooring and four-poster beds, gives you a genuine taste of history. One of our rooms was non-AC, and while we were initially unsure, we quickly realized the cool, pleasant atmosphere made air conditioning unnecessary. The highlight of our stay was the delicious Maharashtrian cuisine. Every meal was incredible, but the puran poli in ghee stood out—absolutely divine! If you’re looking to experience the real beauty of Matheran, Radha Cottage is highly recommended. I’ve already booked my next stay with family!
