Absolutely disgraceful! Do not EVER stay here! Upon arriving we were met with squatters who were all sat outside the building next door. We walked into reception and automatically felt like we weren't going to get what we was expecting. The floor was threadbare and had clutter all around it. The receptionist asked my name and passed me a key card for our room. We had booked a superior room and was told we was in room 40. My daughter has recently had surgery on both legs and is walking with crutches. I asked if there was a lift and was told it was out of order and our room was on the 4th floor.... 8 flights of stairs to get to it. Whilst walking up the stairways it was clear to see that this hotel was not going to look like the photos at all! Carpets absolutely filthy, paintwork terrible, wallpaper going damp and the staff and storage rooms that had all hazardous cleaning products were wide open; even though there was padlocks on these doors, the fire extinguisher hadn't been serviced since 2015 and the break glass fire box had been taken off and covered with was covered with a door number plaque. I doubt that the smoke alarms in the rooms were not working considering the smell of smoke coming from some of the rooms. When arriving in our room, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while. There was mouldy food all under the bed, the windows were filthy with dead flies on the windowsill and the window frames were wooden and just rotting away. No mattress protectors were on any of the beds and the pillows and sheets had stains on them. The paintwork and wallpaper were patched up every where and showing signs of damp. The curtain pole was broken and was held up by resting it ontop of the wardrobe, the blinds were filthy. The draws on the dressing table had dark bits in them that looked like maggots. Now on to the bathroom..... the shower cubicle was filthy and the door did not open without falling off the track. The lino had marks all over it and had been patched up with different lino. The sink was unstable and being balnced on the basin by wedging a piece of cardboard. As I have said, this was the superior room; I dread to think what the standard ones were like. I would say that the squat next door would've been in a better state than this hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Lovely hotel with lovely owners check in was quick and easy room was basic tv didn't work bathroom needs updating shower was 2 settings freezing cold or boiling hot hard to set right floor boards are a pain can hear everyone walking pass breakfast is basic but it's nice to included in a cheap priced stay

For the money I couldn't moab. It wasn't the cleanest but what do you expect. Nice little breakfast and nice owners and staff

Excellent service. Welcoming friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Brilliant for accommodating pets.

Unfortunately The Arncliffe has deteriorated since last year. Breakfast was poor and service not good. Lift was out of service and I was on the top floor lugging luggage up to the top was not good. Bar not open. Will not be staying here again

Good hotel to stay very close to winter garden. The room very old fashion! Can improve about service

Shower was shocking and only luke warm at best tv didn’t work room was not the cleanest made To pay £120 deposit in cash when checked in that was not mentioned on booking Definitely would not recommend anyone stay at this hotel Proprietors were rude we stayed at the rouge lux for 2 nights prior to staying here and it was lovely and proprietors there were fantastic this hotel needs to rethink there management

I had a bedbug in my bed the first night. Killed it and had no more problems after that, but it gave me nasty bites. Nice croissants for breakfast. Crockery not that clean.

Room was dirty also no soap in bathroom very poor bar service good but no attractions for guests

It was very close to the venue that we attended Very friendly and helpful staff!!! Room was clean and tidy.. Had a really good night sleep - bed was so comfortable Shower was good temperature Had a really good stay Would definitely recommend x

The room wasn’t clean and room were cold too and mattress were very hard couldn’t even sleep. The breakfast fully oil fried bread made me sick 🤮🤮
