Villa Savioli Room & Breakfast

I thought this place was fantastic on so many levels. Our room was super clean, light, and airy. It was a bit out of the loop of central Bologna but had some really nice local restaurants which were locally orientated. The magic ingredient, however, was Angela, one of the owners. What she lacked in spoken English, she made up for in her wish to communicate, and nothing was too much trouble. We met up with some friends at the Villa, and spontaneously, she hosted a little party complete with parmesan salami and prosecco. Angela - we just love love you xxxx

Parking was a breeze, with secure on-site options within the gated property. The owner's exceptional hospitality shone through in every interaction, from providing us with a helpful map of the area to encouraging us to explore the charming streets of Bologna under the iconic arches. Villa Savioli Room & Breakfast provided the perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and convenience, making our visit to Bologna truly unforgettable. We wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to fellow travellers seeking an authentic and personalized experience in this vibrant city.

Beautiful building, pleasant staff. Beautiful building in a leafy suburb a short walk from the old town. Riccardo was very helpful and friendly. The website doesn't highlight the limited check-in times very clearly. We arrived after 8pm and Riccardo arranged for our keys to be in a lockbox which worked well. There is gated parking at the property. Our private bathroom was across the main entrance hall which was a bit weird. That's only the case for Bedroom 3 - the other rooms are ensuite. Definitely recommended.

After booking, we found out that you apparently have to play €20 to check in after 8pm. Bit weird. The host messaged us repeatedly to ask when we were arriving. This would be understandable if it were an airbnb but it’s supposed to be a hotel. When we arrived, we found that the room was separate from the bathroom. Not a major issue, but the two rooms were separated by the main reception area of the hotel, so if you went to the toilet, anyone in the reception / having breakfast etc could hear you / see you walking to your room. My fiancée was literally shouted at by one of the people who worked here for using the fridge (which another member of staff told us to use) and for not wearing a mask in the 2m walk between our room and the ‘private bathroom’. The whole place stinks of cigarettes, which is very odd in 2022.

We booked this villa because it has secure parking and is an easy walk to the center of Bologna. We were greated by a nice young man , he spoke very good english. We had picked the best room with bath en suite, very nice. We had a good breakfast on the terrace.
