The Bowral Hotel ★★★

📍 412 Bong Bong St, Bowral

"No lift & no tissue provided. Inside bathroom there is no shampoo tray & no bin which is quite inconvenient. But this place is quiet and can have a good sleep"

Osborn House
9.1 (45 reviews)

Osborn House ★★★★★

📍 96 Osborn Ave, Bundanoon

"We stayed at Osborn House expecting a luxury experience, but unfortunately the service and overall experience fell well below expectations for the price charged. The problems started at check-in. Staff could not locate our booking and then confused it with another reservation. After finally sorting it out, we received almost no orientation or introduction to the property or facilities and were simply pointed toward our room. On Friday evening, when we mentioned we were heading out for dinner, there was also no proactive service offered at all — no assistance organising a taxi, no offer to bring up our car, and no sense of hospitality or attentiveness you would normally expect from a hotel positioning itself as luxury accommodation. Breakfast the next morning was also disappointing. The coffee machine was not functioning properly and produced bitter coffee. We eventually ordered coffee separately, which was acceptable, but the breakfast overall was average at best and not what you would expect from a premium luxury property. The most frustrating issue happened on Saturday afternoon. After spending the entire day out, we returned looking forward to relaxing in our room and enjoying the fireplace, only to discover the room had not been serviced at all. Beds were unmade, towels untouched, and the room was left dirty exactly as we had left it. When we called reception, we were told rooms are only serviced during breakfast and dinner service windows — despite the fact our room had clearly not been serviced while we were at breakfast either. This left us stuck in the room all afternoon with housekeeping unable to clean it while we were there. I emailed Caitlin, the General Manager, during our stay to raise these concerns and again after the stay. She attempted to call once while I was unavailable, but after I returned the call and followed up again by email, there was no further response. For the nightly rate charged here, the level of service, communication, housekeeping and attention to detail was nowhere near the standard expected of a luxury hotel. Very disappointing experience overall."

Peppers Craigieburn Bowral
7.7 (105 reviews)

Peppers Craigieburn Bowral ★★★★

📍 Centennial Rd, Bowral

"Loved staying here at Peppers Craigieburn. It’s a quaint country stay, great for an overnight while heading to A Day on The Green. SO close to the venue, vibes were high, and there’s a shuttle bus that picks you up right at the driveway. What a lovely way to spend a night in Bowral at such a beautiful old building. If you want a renovated room though definitely call in advance and sort that before. Ours was really nice but could tell it was a bit older."

Dormie House
8.1 (103 reviews)

Dormie House ★★★

📍 38 Arthur St, Moss Vale

"This was our first stay here and we were pleasantly surprised. We only needed a room for one night but would have happily stayed several nights. It’s a beautiful, historic building with full amenities and warm, eager to please staff. The grounds are beautifully kept and worth a little explore. we had dinner on site which was lovely, no complaints whatsoever! We would happily return."

Canyonleigh Retreat Hotels in Bowral

Canyonleigh Retreat

"We had a wonderful two-night stay at Canyonleigh Retreat in a family room with three girlfriends, and it was just perfect! The room was beautifully presented with lovely decor, comfortable beds, and high-quality linen that made for a restful sleep. Kush, Issy, and the rest of the team were fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making us feel right at home. The setting is tranquil and peaceful, a perfect escape to enjoy nothing but the sounds of nature. We loved exploring the beautiful woodland walk on the property and were lucky enough to catch a fabulous sunset—just breathtaking. All our meals were from Audrey’s Café onsite, and they were absolutely delicious. We enjoyed breakfast there both mornings, and evening treats delivered to our room added a lovely touch to our stay. We booked direct and were rewarded with a lovely bottle of wine on arrival, which made us feel instantly welcomed. The location is ideal—peacefully tucked away, yet close enough to explore the abundance of wineries and quaint historic towns just a short drive away. We had a fantastic time and couldn’t recommend Canyonleigh Retreat highly enough. We’ll definitely be returning!"

Ardour Milton Park Bowral Hotels in Bowral

Ardour Milton Park Bowral

"The Bowral area has long needed a great place to stay and a good restaurant on site and after many years of being run down it is great to see a refurbished Milton Park again offering this. The refurbishing has kept many of the "old" features of this grand old country hotel. The rooms are comfortable and inviting, the bar areas are great, and the restaurant is very good without being groundbreaking. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the gardens are interesting and inviting for a slow walk around. But there were a few issues that need addressing. Although the bathrooms are spacious, unfortunately our shower was very poor - the pressure from our rain shower was minimal (it leaked upwards) and the wall shower was fixed at below shoulder height - not helpful. The car parking was a good 100-200 metres away from the main door and there was no option for valet parking. Fortunately, the weather was dry on our visit, otherwise this would have been a disaster! Also, breakfast was a little disappointing. When breakfast is included in the tariff, you shouldn't have to pay an additional $15 for basic fried or poached eggs for example. So perhaps a few teething problems and worth returning."

"My friends and I had been looking forward to the Fire Feast for ages — the name alone had us expecting something spectacular. While the food and drinks certainly delivered, the service sadly didn’t match the flavour. When we asked to move tables, we were met with a little more fire than feast — let’s just say the hospitality could have used a touch more warmth, it was uncomfortable and icy from the restaurant manger. The service was slow, our wine glasses spent more time empty than full, and overall the attentiveness was lacking. On the bright side, the bar team (especially Brendan!) was fantastic — friendly, upbeat, and a credit to the place. Sadly, won't be returning."

"Overall, not happy! The hotel was not bad, but both my wife and I were not happy with the check in. As we specially booked the room with King bed and when we checked in, we were told that only 2 Queen Beds room was availiable and he staff Scott told us its upto the hotel's arrangment, where it did not say this 'option' in my booking at all. All Scott told us was unfortunatly and no othe suggestions or recommendation. I told him I will take the room, but I was not happy, he said, ok. So, unfortunately, I will not recommend this hotel to any of my friends."

"The room was great, and the bed was really comfortable. Unfortunately, the hotel might have been fully booked that day because my room was right by the railway tracks. I was woken up several times during the night by the noise. The town itself is worth visiting, with many small shops across the street. The breakfast was excellent, and the locals were incredibly friendly."
