Hotel Aro Palace

The Aro Palace makes for a fantastic old folks home. It’s vast and nothing in it. The artwork is parked on easels from year to year and does nothing for the visitor/ patron experience. Even the piano is soul less and locked. The main lobby area is vast and soul less. I mean having an open office space over reception looks awful. The bar is tiny and could easily be missed forgotten. It’s definitely not a contemporary five star hotel maybe in days gone by? Breakfast buffet starts at 7am to 10.30am and is stone cold by 8am. The cooked options are boring, greasy and the egg options very poor. The entire operation just languishes until everyone disappears. Indeed no good morning smile or welcome to the start of another great day! The bedroom/bathrooms/ furniture need major makeovers. To have a shower involves jumping into a high bath tub! Bathroom space is very tight for 2 persons. The grab handle was loose on wall. Pictures tell a lot! At time of writing this review the pool/spa area was closed for maintenance. It would have been good to know in advance and we could have reserved a different hotel option! The Horizon restaurant on 8th floor offers the potential to see city of Brasov from a height. But the experience ends there. The staff friendly if approached however some require training to engage with the hotel patrons. There are better hotel options available in Brasov and the Aro Palace sadly markets itself on days of a bygone era. Pity because it could be a fantastic 5 star hotel.

Great hotel with good facilities! The hotel it is located in a beautiful setting,right in the city centre. Wiews from the 8th floor, where we spent New Year Eve, were stunning! The staff is always willing to help you .The hotel has a very good selection of breakfast and the rooms are cleaned to such a high standard ,every day. I recomend!

Huge is huge. Don't be fooled by the pictures. The hotel is old, rooms are old, breakfast area is small. There was absolutely nothing special or memorable about this hotel. Gate 1 should stop doing business with this hotel. It is not worth the money. The only positive thing about the hotel was the location.

Nice room overlooking the square and hill with the Brashov Sign but room was too warm and the air con would only go down by a couple of degrees. Not safe to leave window open as easy to move from one balcony to the next. The bath was very welcome and great views from my room!
