TTomasz Kucharski2Overall this very good hotel with nice facilities. However I experience two incidents which downgraded service rank. On the first day in the restaurant person was smoking close to our table - should be separate area for smokers and nonsmokers, no reaction from personel. On the 2nd day when taking short clip of the cook preparing the meal, I was approached by the personel and asked not to record the staff, in other hotels staff is definitely more welcome to guests recording or taking photos. Not here.

It isn’t in the center of Xiangyang’s busiest streets, but you’re within a comfortable walk or short ride to key spots, plus there are eateries nearby that aren’t overhyped tourist traps. Room and comfort - The room itself was a solid 4-star vibe: tidy, well-lit, and surprisingly quiet for a hotel in what feels like a busy area. The bed was comfortable—firm enough to support a good night’s sleep but soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re lying on a board. - Amenities: Decent desk space if you’re traveling for work, reliable Wi-Fi, and a reasonable layout. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure and a practical layout. A few small things felt a touch “budget-first” like standard toiletries and a shower curtain rather than a glass enclosure—but nothing deal-breaking. - Cleanliness: Overall good. The whole hotel smells of lavender. The lady at the front desk is very friendly. The breakfast was rich and fresh. I especially like the beautiful lady working at the front desk. GGuest UserThis hotel meets my expectations because my job is related to hotels. Based on my understanding of five-star hotels, this hotel can actually do better. It just needs to be improved a bit. I drove here on National Day this time, and I was most afraid of not having a parking space, but I don’t have to worry about it at SDIC Jiayue. There are plenty of parking spaces, both underground and above ground. I give this a 10 points. This hotel has high integrity and is owned by itself. Unlike the floors and parking spaces of other hotels where I stayed the next day, they were shared with other hotels. (Mainly, SDIC Jiayue was fully booked, so there were no seats available the next day). Secondly, the location of this hotel is a little far away from the ancient city and Tangcheng, because I thought that I didn’t care about these problems because I didn’t drive. There are few places to eat and drink for late night snacks nearby, but you can order takeout. If you check into the hotel early in the evening, the hotel has a QR code for ordering food that you can scan and order. Off-topic (the chef in our five-star hotel is available 24 hours a day and can cook as long as the guests need it. This can be improved, although basically no one eats late-night snacks in the hotel). In addition, the operation of turning on the TV program is too complicated. If you are old and don't know how to operate it, you should just watch TV and change channels as soon as you turn it on. By the way, I would like to criticize the front desk. When guests check in, it’s a bit awkward for two staff members to chat in front of me, right? I care about this very much and feel disrespected. In fact, I am very unhappy about this matter. I will come to SDIC Jiayue next time because the state-owned enterprise is guaranteed. I hope the hotel will improve a bit and become the No.1 hotel in Xiangyang city in the future. SSquare FishWe had a load of laundry to do but time was short for us. One of the hotel crew FangFang, willingly helped us washed and dry our laundry and put it back in our room, dropping us a handwritten note. It was a very nice gesture from her and she didn't want anything in return. We felt touched by her actions and just wanted to give a shout out to her good service. Hotel is excellent in terms of cleaniless and location. Room space is big too.
