For those who grew up on Chinese novels, you'll be disappointed. Most novels describe how the Mongols attached XiangYang on horseback. But if you see view from the city walls, you'll realise it's protected from all sides, especially the north, by the 800m wide Han river. No way that the Mongol horses could have swam 800m while under fire from the arrows on XiangYang."
