Last week I was originally planning to go to Chengde, but a friend suggested visiting Nuanquan Ancient Town in Weixian County. Although it was a bit hot during the day, the temperature dropped to around 20 degrees Celsius after sunset, and a gentle breeze made it very pleasant. Evenings were comfortable without air conditioning – a true summer retreat! What I liked most was the Gubao Boyuan Guesthouse: the courtyard retains the original traditional courtyard layout, with blue bricks and red tiles, simple and elegant; the pavilions are beautiful, exuding a timeless charm; the rooms have both modern technology and a strong sense of home, showcasing individual taste – I loved it! 👍👍 It's also worth mentioning the owners, a very warm and thoughtful couple. They picked us up and dropped us off, even buying us discounted performance tickets and letting us sample Weixian's famous fried yellow cake for free…so heartwarming! 🥰🥰 Hehe…a very pleasant trip! The cave dwellings are quite large. The last two rooms we booked didn't have windows, but that didn't bother us. The hotel has its own restaurant, which is very convenient.
