Our second visit to the hotel, it is a traditional style hotel with a focus on service. The lovely pool area and gardens offer a relaxing environment. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were very welcome. Wi-fi was disappointing. Freshly cooked eggs included in the breakfast cost would have added a lot of extra value.

The hotel is exceptionally well-cared for; everything is so clean and tidy, including the rooms and bathrooms. The location is superb; a short 5 minute walk to the lake but away from the noise and crowds. The flooring in the Orchidea Suite was so clean that it was a hazard, unfortunately. Extremely slippery to the point my husband unfortunately did slip over and hurt his wrist! The staff are efficient in their service at breakfast and dinner, but we found them unapproachable and just not welcoming at all, unfortunately. We wondered if this would have improved during our week stay, but alas it did not. The food was mediocre; we found it to be very tasteless and bland but that may just be our personal taste. Breakfast was quite limited if you wanted a cooked breakfast, and when other things ran out they did not tend to replace it, which was a bit disappointing. (If you can grab a chocolate croissant, go for it! They were lovely but like gold-dust!)

A charming hotel with lovely views of the lake. Just a ten minute walk to the lake and the shops but a quiet location with a very nice peaceful garden and large swimming pool . The food is very good and is served by professional and attentive staff . My only slight negative would be that they are very reserved and don’t smile or chat very much but this could be due to the language barrier . Overall we had a really nice week and would definitely recommend this hotel .

This was our first visit to this very relaxing Hotel. We received a very warm welcome. All staff were very friendly and professional. We loved our room on the 2nd floor. It was immaculately clean and extremely comfortable with a view over the garden and the lake in the distance. We were a little disappointed in the toiletries provided - no shower gel or hair conditioner. Breakfast and evening meals were lovely. Interesting menu every day. We did eat out a few times as we like to explore local restaurants and enjoy the atmosphere. The Hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the Lake and restaurants/shops. Also the marina to go on the boats. The pool and gardens were very attractive. Also the terrace outside where you could sit and enjoy breakfast and lunch. The bar was quiet in the evenings. The chairs weren’t particularly comfortable. The Hotel is the most relaxing place we have ever stayed at and would highly recommend it. Hope to return.

Second stay for me at the Madrina and did not disappoint. Excellent room with a great view of the lake, 10 minutes walk to the lakeside. Great base for exploring the lake by ferry or bus. We stayed half board and the evening meals were the best I've had in a 4star hotel, excellent. The staff were all brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. Waiter service was attentive without being overbearing.

Hotel was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Very clean, excellent location. Beautiful grounds. All in all it ticked all the boxes for us as a family of 9 travelling grandparents and teenagers

We returned to this hotel in July, having previously visited in 2018, and our stay was wonderful. As with our previous visit, all the staff are very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are very comfortable and the food excellent. The location is great for catching a ferry or bus to visit different places on the lake. We used both buses and ferries to go to the places we didn’t get to last time and they are easy and efficient to use. We had a terrace room this time, with direct access to the gardens and pool. The room had a good view of the lake and was a lovely place to sit, however the higher rooms offer a better lake view if that’s what you prefer. We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel and the choice, service and location of the restaurant couldn’t be better. We tried a selection of local wines from the fantastic choice on offer and have since managed to find one of our favourites in our local supermarket! The hotel is immaculately clean everywhere from the rooms to the pool and gardens and all the communal areas. The gardens and pool are beautiful and well maintained and feel like a quiet oasis of peace and calm. We would happily return to Villa Madrina and have again recommended it to friends and family. Thank you for making our visit as amazing as before.
