We were fairly tired from an entire day of ski and we did not want to eat too much so late at night, it was around 10:00. We shared a pizza and a salad and to our surprise on the bill the tap filtered water was charged at 8 Eur this was in addition to the Coperta which in most restaurants ranges from 6 to 12 Eur. We ended up paying for a bill of 43 Eur, a pizza and a salad out of which 20 Eur was filtered tap water and “service charge”. A disgusting behavior from what seemed a nice Restaurant. We are staying for 5 more nights I will make sure to stay clear of this restaurant. I am well traveled, I strongly recommend anyone looking to enjoy their night to go somewhere else. @owners, if you see this, this is not a way to treat your guests. Cheap cheap cheap, disgusted

Amazing location. 100m walk (maybe less) to ski lifts. At top of the Main Street so all you need is nearby. Bed was nice and big; room was spacious too. Bathroom was well kitted out and clean. Breakfast is good. Nice pastries, scrambled eggs and bacon. Lots of juices, fruits and pastries. Could do with more variety day to day but we were only there for 3 nights so good enough for us. The sauna is also nice. Book ahead and you can get the place to yourself for a 45 minute slot. Very nice after a long day's skiing. The Turkish steam bath was out of order though. However, the big downside is the smell from the bathroom. It was a pretty poor experience from that perspective. We only found out that the smell could be reduced when you turn OFF the ventilation. They seriously need to change all the ventilators and filters in the building as it is extremely off putting. We also asked for a high floor on booking and got 1st floor so that is disappointing too Otherwise, staff quite nice and I would go back as location is just fabulous.

We have just returned from spending 10 disappointing nights in this hotel. As we have been on extended travels over the winter, I needed to find somewhere in Cervinia that didn't blow the budget, to enable us to still go skiing at end of season. We were offered a choice of three hotels by our travel agent (one of which was the Sertorelli, can't remember the other) and I chose Grivola on the basis it was near to the Cretaz lift. I had read all the reviews and was aware that whilst it may claim to be a 4-star (adhering to all Italian standards yes, but it's not to the standard of an international 4-star) it doesn't have great reviews. I wish I had paid more heed to the reviews and booked the Sertorelli instead - caveat emptor for me. We were placed in room 101 which is one of only two rooms on the first floor of the hotel (the rest is reception, lounge area (barely used) and the manager's office. Adjacent to us (and probably interconnecting) was room 102, which seemed to have a revolving door of people staying in it one or two nights, for the first 5 days of our trip (after that a nice America family arrived and things improved). The main issue with room 101 is that it has no sound proofing and the walls, ceiling and floor are all wooden. There was incessant noise from the restaurant below, people above (some of whom sounded like they were pounding the floor in their ski boots at all times of night and day), people shouting in the street at kicking out time, and noise from room 102. The bathroom of 102 is next to the bed of room 101 - you can literally hear everything. Three times in the first five days we were woken in the night by noise from next door, and I had to go and speak to the people to ask them to be quiet (not because they were partying, but just because every sound was carrying). Overall I think we had disturbed sleep on 9 out of the 10 nights we were there. I could have said something to management but as there was no hope of fixing the soundproofing in the room, it didn't seem worth it. I also am not certain that this was the room we actually paid for (standard versus superior) so I was worried about being moved to a much smaller room if we complained. In terms of facilities, the bath in room 101 was slippery and difficult to get in and out of. I am not a geriatric but I was worried about falling in it - we also could never get sufficient hot water to run a nice full, hot bath post-skiing (I never usually take baths apart from when we're in the mountains, so I always make sure we have one in the room). There were no tea / coffee making facilities and the fridge was stocked with glass bottles, even though there was a sign in the room to say no glass should be in the room. I have never previously been in a hotel where glass is banned generally, so that was most odd - this meant for example you could not take a drink up from the bar to your room. Finally we found most of the staff to be unfriendly / unhelpful, which was a

We absolutely loved this hotel! The decor is amazing - with wood, art and lovely aesthetics. The dining room is AMAZING and the breakfast room/bar also has a lovely ambience. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and are cleaned thoroughly every day during your stay. The food is exceptional - and the waiters and waitresses are very professional. We would love to return - a fantastic place to stay.

Very good location near ski lifts. Bed and pillows are excellent and the breakfast is enough to get the day well started. The staff was very helpful and polite. Also cleaning was in excellent level. Rooms and hallways are beginning to be a bit old. Heating is okay, but air circulation in rooms is poor and moisture level gets high when staying in the room. Smell in carpets and structures is covered with perfumes, which is not a good solution for asthmatic guests. Ski room was a plus. Would rate this hotel solid three stars.

Hotel with a great location (walk to lifts) and potential, but it is sorely let down by a few managerial issues. PROS: location and cleanliness. Nearby free parking. Staff are friendly. CONS: If there was an expectancy on my side that this is an Italian 2-3 star, not a 4 star, I would not point out negatives. However, I am familiar with hotel standards in Italy and this one is not operating as a 4 star Italian, more like 2-3 star, so be aware. On arrival, despite providing a list of rooms with guests for our friends, and having provided it online, they were checked into the incorrect rooms upon arrival. The paid promise of room with mountain view, was also not fulfilled completely. The rooms are decent, but we were provided with no basics you would expect of a standard 4 star, like water etc even if it was to purchase. There is a fridge but it’s left empty. Ours was functioning / cold, but had no working light. We were given 4 small shampoo bottles but no shower gel/conditioner/etc as standard practice, just one very small hand soap. Customer services basics and communication could be better. When I booked the hotel, the description stated there is a spa&relaxation area - but upon arrival, this was being repaired for the entire duration of our stay without notifying us beforehand or altering the online descriptions, which would have affected my choice in booking. We had other choices of hotels and this was important to us for socialising and relaxing after skiing. When I approached the front staff about it on day 1&2 out of 3, and explained that it’s unacceptable, they didn’t offer any alternatives and reluctantly said they would speak to the manager, who was only arriving much later and refused to call him. I finally asked for a voucher or access to a nearby hotel’s and one member of staff finally arranged something; but it was again very dubious, sub standard and unprepared so we decided not to use it. Breakfast was average, but they had only one very slow coffee machine, which resulted in constant, long cues every single day. It also had problems from time to time and staff had to reset it a few times. I suggest to the hotel management that they sort out these basic issues to live up to their stars, or face getting less ideal reviews.

The hotel is overall very appealing, the staff very nice. We had a weather-related problem on arrival ("Matterhorn Alpine Crossing") and might have had to rebook by phone for a few days. The hotel was prepared to give us a credit towards rebooking despite our "non-cancelable rate" - very friendly !!!! But then everything worked out as originally booked ... For a short stay, the room (three-bedroom suite) was absolutely sufficient for us four people. The room was clean, all amenities provided as expected. Yet, for a longer stay, the very (!!!) small bathroom with toilet and shower certainly would have been a challenge for us.

You couldn't find a better location, 100m from the ski lift and right in the main town amongst restaurants and bars. Every single member of staff we came into contact with, both in the hotel and the restaurant, were all fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent, thought the breakfast buffet was OK, not brilliant. Modern, clean room with housekeeping everyday. Check out time was 10.00am though the hotel very kindly extended ours until 1.00pm on the basis I was on crutches from an injury and we weren't being picked up until the afternoon. We will certainly return.
