Beautiful hotel right in the centre of Buxton.
The entrance is very grand and impressive.
Staff were polite
Rooms were very small but clean and comfortable.
No temperature control in the room which was a bit disappointing as it was cold when we first entered.
Reception staff advised heating only comes on at 4pm, so had to wait for an hour in order to warm up.
This is the only negative I had from this place.
Would stay here again

We booked a cosy double for two nights in February. The first room we were given on the ground floor was not clean, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned prior to our check in. The reception staff quickly changed our room which was much better. The general facilities were good, good bar service, pool / gym area was good. Only downside was the sauna wasn’t working.
We would recommend the hotel due to its excellent location, beautiful communal areas and grounds. Opting for a higher price room, overlooking the front of the property would be our choice if we stay again.

I chose this one because it was a good price :) in the center of Buxton town. Close to restaurants, shops, train station, bus stop, nice park 5 minutes from the hotel. Nice service.

During our stay in a standard room, we had modest expectations based on the price point. Unfortunately, the room did not meet even those expectations. Here are some specific issues we encountered:
1. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a restful night's sleep.
2. The bathroom exhaust fan was not functioning correctly.
3. The furniture was uneven, and the TV was mounted in a way that caused it to bend on one side.
4. The air quality in the room felt heavy, and we could only open the window slightly.
Overall, these factors contributed to a disappointing experience in the standard room.

Location was fantastic and the building itself is beautiful. However, we were not informed prior to our arrival that the lifts were not working. My mum has had recent surgery and so we had to walk up to the top floor each time, and the female concierge didn’t seem very sympathetic. When we requested housekeeping, we came back to our room still quite dirty and our beds were haphazardly made up.

Great hotel conveniently located at the end of town by the train station. Lots of top restaurants and shops at the bottom of the hill. Staff were great too.
