The Black Boy Inn
9.0 (108 reviews)

The Black Boy Inn ★★★★

📍 Stryd Pedwar a Chwech, Caernarfon

"The location is excellent, convenient for getting around, but there wasn't any parking as described. Public parking nearby is free from 5 pm to 9 am; you'll need to pay if you arrive early or leave late. The room is upstairs from the restaurant, so there was some slight noise, but overall it was acceptable. The shower water temperature and flow were fantastic, and the mattress was just the right firmness. The sheets were washed, but there were still some stains that might be difficult to remove."

YHA Snowdon Llanberis
8.7 (24 reviews)

YHA Snowdon Llanberis ★★★

📍 Caernarfon, Llanberis

"Stayed here for one night, before hiking Snowdon the following day. We got the bus from just down the road to Llanberis. Hostel was clean and tidy, and staff were happy to help. The kitchen was on the smaller side compared to some of the other YHA's hostels I've stayed in, but still big enough for multiple people to cook in. There was a large dining area with plenty of seating available. We stayed in a standard room (three of us), and the shower/toilet facilities were clean. Would happily stay here again."

Premier Inn Caernarfon

The Celtic Royal Hotel

The Celtic Royal Hotel ★★★

📍 Bangor St, Caernarfon

"Good breakfast buffet "full English" each morning. Sauna and steam room next to the pool. Rooms are clean, water pressure is good, location is central."

Ty Glyndwr Bunkhouse, Bar and Cafe
8.7 (33 reviews)

Ty Glyndwr Bunkhouse, Bar and Cafe ★★

📍 1 Castle Street, Caernarfon

"This is such a unique place. If I'm in Caernarfon again I'll be going back to the Welsh/Thai fusion bar in the basement even if staying somewhere else. Owner is a friendly and memorable woman who makes great cocktails and food. The combo of Welsh and Southeast Asian aesthetics throughout the place was unexpected and cool. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean, location was good. "

Royal Victoria Hotel Snowdonia
8.6 (120 reviews)

Royal Victoria Hotel Snowdonia ★★★

📍 Royal Victoria Hotel, Caernarfon, Llanberis

"This hotel had a very convenient location. It was within walking distance of the restaurant district, the train station, and bus stops. A short morning stroll was also possible, taking just a few minutes to reach the lake and the castle, making it a very comfortable location. Breakfast consisted of a full English breakfast selection. There was a bathtub, allowing me to soak and relieve my fatigue. I didn't use the bar, but it seemed quite lively. Unfortunately, there were no taxis available that day, but the staff kindly checked by phone and arranged for a bus. They also held my luggage after check-out."

Travelodge Caernarfon

Travelodge Caernarfon ★★★

📍 Victoria Dock, Balaclava Rd, Caernarfon

"Nice and clean. Suited our needs perfectly. Staff very friendly and helpful when you could find them. They appeared to be extremely busy when needed. "

Tyn Rhos Country House
9.0 (42 reviews)

Tyn Rhos Country House ★★★★★

📍 Llanddeiniolen, Llanddeiniolen

"Ty'n Rhos Country House Hotel is a 5* boutique hotel of the highest order. Better than any other I have stayed in across Britain. Family run, with the owner very hands-on each day and her excellent design and creativity has made each room special. The staff, all hand-picked by her, are like a family and nothing is too much trouble (in fact the owner's by-word is just that). Five star service and facilities, but never presumptuous. Set in lovely countryside, with large grounds and gardens overlooking Menai Straits and Anglesey Island, it is peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. Breakfasts, Afternoon tea and dinner are all home made on site, and will fill you up. We stayed last year and came back again this year. We plan to come again next year (very unlike us to keep going back to the same place, but this is so special you will want to)."

Plas Dinas Country House

The menu is beautifully curated and expertly executed , a wonderful dining experience we will definitely return"

The Black Boy Inn ★★★★
"The environment was very nice and quiet. Our room was on the ground floor and in the shade, so it was a bit damp; the toilet paper was wet. Otherwise, everything was fine. The room was also spacious and close to Carnarvon Castle."

YHA Snowdon Llanberis ★★★
"The last time I stayed in a Youth Hostel was 35 years ago, the last hotel I stayed in was last month - it was £500 a night. I was booked into Llanberis Youth Hostel by friends from school to go walking in Snowdonia - it would absolutely not be my choice - but …..it was great. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. The other guests were lovely, friendly and ….normal unlike some high end hotels. The breakfast was really good quality, the location was perfect and the bed - really comfortable. Incredible value for £30 a night. I may not revisit soon with my wife but I really enjoyed my time here. Thanks so much for restoring my warm view of the world"

"The room is very cozy, the facilities are not too new but they are all good. There is a meadow outside the room window, and the view is great. There are kettles, tea cups, coffee, etc., which is very convenient."

Travelodge Caernarfon ★★★
"Hotel is where the marina is. So it is nice. It is also the opposite end to where the castle is. Fortunately, Caernarfon is not very big. It's a nice 10 min walk along the coastal castle wall. What's unfortunate is that our toilet smells of urine and that the hotel doesnt really have a drop off drive way. The hotel uses public carpark for guests, so imagine when it rains. Reception is 1 floor up. More like a cashier counter. All in all, stay was fine, just a little "piss" off with the smell in the bathroom."

Tyn Rhos Country House ★★★★★
"This country house is a charmer. We stayed with friends for three nights in ground floor rooms with patios over looking the koi pond. Our room was very well appointed and the bed extremely comfortable. We had two delicious dinners ~ originally had dinner reservations for only one night but quickly decided to have dinner there again! Breakfasts were more than ample and also delicious. What we all enjoyed the most at Ty'n Rhos was the staff - Hilary, Phil, Laura, George, and Mabon to name a few. They were all gracious, accommodating, extremely fun to visit with, and attentive to our needs. They made us feel so welcome and at home. We would certainly stay at Ty'n Rhos again. Wonderfull visit!"

"Myself and a group of three friends came to this beautiful location to enjoy a superb afternoon tea with cocktails. The house and gardens are beautiful. Really lovely to stroll around the beautiful gardens and pond. The afternoon tea was superb, attention to detail in every single ingredient and great service. We enjoyed a range of lovely cocktails which were mixed to perfection and trust me we know about these things 😂 . We will most definitely be back. Highly recommended!!"
