Lovely hotel, the location of the hotel isn’t far from most attractions. A perfect destination for tourist visiting the North.

The hotel is ok if you book it for 3 people or less. I booked it for my family of 4 and the description on the booking site was different from what I had. Description on Trip.com clearly mentioned that I will have 1 double bed and 2 single beds, but 1 single bed finally changed to a sofa bed. I did discuss it with the concierge, and she said the hotel policy can arrange a sofa bed if 3 bed’s bedrooms are full. I did check again, I really didn’t find it on policy page and also room description. Lastly, the sofa bed, I actually don’t think it is a sofa bed. The sofa cannot be extended. The arm of the sofa and the back of the sofa are still there.

Staff were really helpful. Pool was closed for maintenance but was able to take children to local leisure centre for free. Only downside to the stay was the uneven hallways (up and down stairs) which was hard on a disabled guest.

Good hotel overall, but I had booked it specifically to avail of the spa/pool facility so was very disappointed that these were not available. Looking again at the communication sent by the hotel, the closure was indicated at the bottom of the first email, which I missed. Other than that, it is a decent hotel. The food was disappointing.

After I arrived at the hotel after a 5.5 hrs hour's drive from Bristol and before going out in the evening I went to bed for a couple of hours of sleep - I was awoken after a short period of time because of drilling going on in the premises - was told by the person in reception that drilling works was going on for another 2 hours and thus apart from being woken up I could not go back to sleep until 0830pm. This meant my stay at the hotel was not what i expected. Tony Hooper

Both the Pool and Gym were closed, but as this was booked quickly for a business trip, this was not clear enough.
The receptionist was also obviously fed up of telling people this as her demeanour and attitude were very off putting.
As those services were closed the hotel was grossly overpriced for quality recieved.
The room was sweltering on entry, and there was hair stuck to the wall in the shower.
Power points are not available next to the beds.
The decor is old and outdated.
The food was fairly bland, although restaurant staff relatively attentive and very polite.

Staff were really friendly and helpful (especially the Spa). Town is 5 minute walk, as is harbour, both with selection of restaurants. Hotel has seaside atmosphere rather than boutique/ultra modern feel but was comfortable. Ample parking and easy to find.
