Great welcome at reception, nothing too much trouble. Had ground floor accessible room due to my wife's limited mobility, with a massive wet room and really comfy king size bed. Felt a little bit shut in due to the bedroom window not opening and glass being covered with privacy decals, however it was at street level so we expected some security features. Able to make full use of the adjoining pub so could take beer and fresh refills of free coffee/tea back to room. Great value Wetherspoons prices and a lovely atmosphere in the airy lounge and bar, and plenty of choice of eating areas.

This was our first time staying at a Wetherspoons hotel and based on our experience, it will definitely not be our last. The John Francis Basset Hotel in Camborne, Cornwall surpassed all our expectations - from the friendly, welcoming staff to the amazing room. There was an array of hot drinks, as well as bottles of water - you also got free hot drinks in the attached pub! The bed was massive and really comfy. There were plenty of towels and the complimentary toiletries smelled lovely. Although there isn't a car park, we had no trouble parking (for free) and about a 5min walk away. This really is a great place to stay and an ideal base for exploring what gorgeous Cornwall has to offer.

Super friendly and very very helpful! Chelsea went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and we really appreciate it. Its really nice to feel like the staff actually care. For sure her kindness and positive vibes made a massive difference to our short stay. Thank you, Chelsea, you're a star!!!!!!!

This was our 3 stay at this hotel. We stopped here for 1 night on our way to 6 nights in Hayle. The room was comfortable , clean with tea, coffee, hot chocolate facilities with a couple of biscuits. You can also get unlimited hot drinks if you show your room key at the bar. Great central location for exploring Cornwall. The food is a tad pricey compared to other Spoons pubs.

OMG amazing Absolutely spotless room Very spacious & everything we needed was there. The staff were amazing in the hotel & in the pub next door. Only travelled from St.Ives to stay the night for a gig over the road so it was very handy. The food is always good in this one. Thank you

The building is very smart. Reception was welcoming. We had a very spacious double room with an equally large shower which was just perfect. Housekeeping, bar/restaurant staff go the extra mile and are so friendly. They have a Top plates Small rates policy which drives the price right down. Pricier hotels could learn some lessons from this place. We had a great four nights here. Just superb !!!

Thank you for a nice stay. Checked in late due to the nature of my late notice visit, was very happy to get a room! Checked in by a friendly member of staff who made sure I knew everything and was comfortable in the hotel. Being I was down there due to a family emergency my mind was all over the place, came into possibly the biggest hotel room I have had! Comfortable bed, nice air conditioning, lovely showers and was of course all clean as can be. Had food downstairs, very much an upper standard Wetherspoons, you know what you’re getting but it was one of the better Wetherspoons by far. Had a lovely curry! Was lucky they put the menus in the bedroom so took one of those down with me so I knew what I already wanted! The staff were lovely and attentive In the restaurant too and of course you get the large range of drinks! I hope to stay in another of these hotels and may many more of them open up.

I gave this place a try after reading such great reviews, and now I understand why! I was blown away by this hotel, by far the best Wetherspoon hotel I've been to so far. The hotel is located in the centre of Camborne, with good transport links and amenities nearby. I was greeted with a friendly welcome, and check-in was quick and simple. My room was on the top floor and it was huge! It had all the features I would generally look for. I slept really well here too, no noise at all. I ate downstairs in the pub for dinner and breakfast - both were served really quickly and I cannot fault the service or food I received. This place really is top notch, and I can't wait to return in the future. There was also a 10% voucher on my bed for another stay, thank you very much! 10/10 - Best hotel stay in years. To all that help in running the hotel and pub, a huge well done :)
