Very crowded. Family type hotel

We stayed for 7 nights arriving on 15th April. After checking into our room I decided it was too noisy, floor 2 overlooking the stage, the seating area & where some animation activities took place, also children running around on the stage. After speaking to reception asking for a quieter room it was resolved in minutes, really appreciated it. Off we went to room 4037 on the other side of the hotel which was much more peaceful, even though the children's playground was down below it was perfect & we still had a side sea view. Room immaculate, food absolutely fine for us, we were full board. Drinks very reasonable, €5-80 for a large beer & rosé wine. Cava available at breakfast too but didn't have any. Day beds were spot on for us & managed to get one everyday, with a gorgeous view of the beach which was beautiful & clean. I did pop my toes in the sea but a bit cold for me, never stopped many others going in, didn't venture in the pool, there were quite a few using it during our stay. Absolutely loads of sunbeds & parasols around the pool areas. Plus the rooftop Sky Bar for Adults only which we actually didn't ask to use, wished we had now. But there's always another time, would definitely stay here again. Hotel shop was handy for water, soft drinks, beer & gifts, plenty of supermarkets close by & some lovely restaurants & bars, we visited The Shamrock, Bar Garbeo, Best Seller, all within easy walking distance. Got the Plana bus right outside the hotel into Salou & had a slow walk back to the hotel stopping for a rest at intervals & enjoyed a coffee & herba tea. I stayed in this hotel during Easter break with family of 5. When arrived had to wait for 10 minutes to check in and reception lady who booked us in was not that friendly. Had two rooms which were next to each other and were given two complimentary drinks. We did however arrive at 10pm and the hotel did not provide any light snacks so had to order a pizza. The hotel is clean and tidy and there is a pool table and games area which was nice. Breakfast when you arrive they ask for your room number and the hostess booking for breakfast was nice looking and friendly. Breakfast there is so much choice and variety and liked the fresh omelette making station and hot or cold breakfast. The restaurant can get busy so would come 30 minutes after. We booked for half board and dinner was ok just the same for each day and not much change was repetitive. I will do Breakfast now in the future. What makes this hotel appealing is the location right on the beach and such nice walks to salou . Also the African guys selling the football shirts and caps were out every night soon as Spanish police turn up they would pack up and go and there every night from 9pm. Also one thing did not like some of the souvenir shops as the owners would be constantly watching you as if you was going to steal something they would stand there and stare at you. The shops are mostly run by Indians so did not buy from them used hotel shop and one across the road as they were nice and would not stand there staring at you. A nice hotel stay just the service lets them down as only have powered milk in the room and had to go out and buy milk. Also had to ask reception for tea bags and would only give 2 -3 sachets only. Lastly to add the location is great and all super markets close by . Over all a nice relaxing stay

Pros....nice beachfront location and spacious foyer. Bus stop right outside. Villafortuny is a lovely area with Cambrils a short trip away. Cons...there was many but I'll try and make it short. Dirty toilet on arrival...told receptionist and she asked "what did I want her to do about it" her exact words. Reception would prefer if you weren't there Got scalded by a faulty kettle asked to replace, never did. Finger blistered but Reception couldn't care less. Constant infestation of tiny flies and smell in bathroom...Only way to stop them was to stuff the overflow. Shower overflowed into bedroom every time used. Corridor was dilapidated and needs updating...water stains outside each room and door veneers coming away. Very shabby Rooms quite small, very little space between dressing table and bed..no room for a chair. Food was ok on occasions, roasted meats and fish good..vegetables were tasteless poor quality. Desserts all tasted the same but fresh fruit good Queuing for coffee in morning was absolutely horrendous....better to go down promenade to a lovely cafe a few yards away. Drink in bar is questionable....defo a bit watered down. Entertainment for adults, was embarrassing and very poor quality more like a school concert...on the other hand we really enjoyed the kids section. Poolside... there was plenty of beds but so close with absolutely not space...we used the beach. Unfortunately I could go on and on. I wouldn't go back to Maritim but I will return to Villafortuny

Nice hotel. Good location. Right at the beach. Tasty food. Good rooms. Also near the hotel there are supermarkets and small shops. Good place to enjoy your holiday. It was a second half of April, sea was chill but I was even able to swim a bit. Also we went one day to Barcelona, as a train station was just 20 minutes by cab.
