Camden Windward House

Another great stay at Windward House with Dan and Matt. Always accommodating. Lots of ideas and suggestions of what’s happening in Camden and surrounding area. Love the gardens and sitting by fire at night with a cup of tea or glass of wine. Only place we stay when visiting Camden.

Windward house is a perfect get away! This historic home is beautifully restored and has lucious garden spaces with places to sit, enjoy and relax. The owners have a passion for serving their guests and are very informed regarding the local and regional area. Additionally, the breakfast options consist of fresh ingredients prepared with culinary expertise! My husband and I had a spectacular stay and hope to return on a future vacation.

The Inn was one of the finest we have ever stayed at in decades. Dan and Matt were the best, the room was outstanding and the breakfasts wonderful. We highly recommend Windward House without any conditions.

We have stayed multiple times at the Windward House, this trip we were with them for 6 nights. The Chart Room was a very large suite of 2 rooms, a bedroom with a door and a living room with lots of windows, we were able to open them and let the cool ocean breeze in. All the linens, mattress and large bathroom with a walk-in shower were all pristine, we also had a private deck with French doors. We had our amazing 2 course breakfast out there a few mornings. This home is not frilly and full of antiques, it’s an eclectic mix of new technology and luxurious, historic aspects. Matt & Dan are wonderful innkeepers, very knowledgeable about the area and very present on property. The gardens are gorgeous and there’s a gas fireplace and lots of chairs spread out for private time. It’s an easy walk to town with shops, restaurants and schooners for day sails. We feel like Matt and Dan are close friends at this point, can’t wait to go back next summer.

I have been visiting Camden on an annual basis for the past 15 years to visit family and have typically chosen AirBnB properties or the guest room in one of our family homes. After reviewing Windward House's website I was intrigued by the description of the property and had a good feeling about what the experience would be like so I booked a couple of nights for me and my girlfriend. We stayed in the Chart Room and were immediately welcomed by Dan and Matt after pulling into the driveway. Their genuine pride of ownership and warmth as hosts was clearly evident from the get go. They struck the absolute right balance in seeking to know how they could enhance our experience while respecting our privacy. What they've created is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay that is super convenient for enjoying Camden's scenic harbor and historic village. And they offer lots of ideas and resources to explore Mid-coast Maine during your stay. I highly recommend the Chart Room as it has a private deck where we enjoyed our (amazing) breakfasts and a comfortable four poster bed with a separate sitting room filled with popular books to read. We fell in love with the garden and lawn areas behind the B&B and enjoyed the fire table where we met another couple and vortex fountains that provided a nice backdrop of water sounds while spending time outside. Dan later shared instructions with us for making the fountains too. We will keep WIndward House at the top of our list for future visits to Camden and recommend that you do too!

Our stay at Camden Windward House was only one night, but we wish it was longer! The house and grounds are extremely well maintained and picturesque. The house is located just far enough from the main ***** to feel relaxed, but close enough that a walk of only a couple minutes gets you right in the action. The proprietors were very personable and helpful with great recommendations of places and activities to check out during our stay. If we ever find ourselves in Camden, we will absolutely be staying there again!
