What a wonderful hotel. We spent our first three nights in South Africa and liked it so much we came back for our last night before we flew home. It was a fabulous place to arrive feeling tired after an overnight flight, it was far too early to get into our room so we treated to breakfast on the verandah of the Oasis breakfast and lunch restaurant. The breakfast buffet is outstanding - everything you could wish for. The pool area was lovely and never to crowded, our room beautiful and what made our stay so special was the outstanding service and attention to detail from every member of staff we interacted with. We particularly commend Azola (? Not sure if I have spelt that right) who dealt with our massive load of baggage and car, Zane who was very efficient and charming when serving us lunch on our last day and Wellington in guest experiences.

My sister and I had a beautiful experience at the Mt Nelson High Tea, with Cheslyn as our super-star waitress! She was so attentive, had a great sense of humour and truly elevated our experience! The food was sensational, and the versatility and range offered unmatched.

We were at Mount Nelson for high tea. The food on offer was excellent. What we liked best was the friendliness of the staff, from the moment we got out of the taxi until we said goodbye. We would particularly like to mention Cheslyn, who looked after us wonderfully. Dear Cheslyn, thank you very much. We would love to come back.

Popped in for the afternoon tea & first of all, the hotel & grounds are stunning. Serene, beautiful, & makes you not want to leave. The attention to detail, from the decor, artwork, down to the beautiful washrooms is well thought out. The highlight of the high tea for me was the desserts & the service. The tea sommelier and my server of the day Andiswa were great. Would definitely come back.

Imagine a hotel that is steeped in history with a link to a famous singer from your home town? Well, that's exactly what this hotel meant to us. We are proud Liverpudlians and huge fans of The Beatles. John Lennon famously booked himself in under the pseudonym, Mr Greenwood. If it's good enough for John, it was going to be good enough for us. The hotel exceeded all expectations. Beautiful building, steeped in history with a unique and polished style. Started well with a welcome drink and friendship bracelet gifts. Our balcony room overlooking the pool was perfection. Loved our access via a library lift! Beautiful gardens provide the relaxation and quiet after a day in Cape Town. The Planet Bar serves amazing cocktails and a good selection of beers. Perfect. So many extraordinary features that makes this hotel so special. Concierge service booked restaurants for our three nights stay prior to our arrival; hotel's own fleet of cars whisked us away from the palm lined drive and the staff were exceptional. It's the type of place that you can sit back, relax and just appreciate your surroundings. I'm only sorry we could not stay longer. One hint. Book a tour guide/driver through the hotel to get the best insight into life along the coast. We had Sam. He was absolutely brilliant and immersed us into the sights and stories of this beautiful country.

We had a fantastic experience travelling as a small family of four. The staff went above and beyond, particularly in making sure our kids had a great time which made all the difference to us. We will be back for certain.

Emma, our waitress, was an absolute gem! She was helpful with picking the best dishes, and choosing the best desserts and local South African teas to compliment our meal. The food was incredible, especially the curry. The dessert (mud cake and baked cheesecake) were so good I had to have them packed up so I would stop eating.
