Harvest Park Studios

Harvest Park Studios ★★★

📍 11 Harvest Road, Cromwell

"Very nice, new, clean and modern units with underfloor heating, HVAC, etc. staff is friendly and there are apparently communal services which I didn’t visit. It is in an industrial estate so I’m not sure how the noise levels will be during the week. The rooms are new so hopefully well insulated."

Hampshire Holiday Parks - Arrowtown

Hampshire Holiday Parks - Arrowtown ★★

📍 12B Centennial Avenue, Arrowtown

"Dilapidated, there's no other word to describe it."

Alpine Junction Townhouse Apartments, Lodge & Hotel
9.2 (50 reviews)

Alpine Junction Townhouse Apartments, Lodge & Hotel ★★★

📍 20 Alison Avenue, Albert Town

"The staff here are incredibly nice and welcoming, which we really appreciated. However, the room is quite small, we could barely open two suitcases on the floor at the same time. We also had a very unexpected wake-up call when the fire alarm went off for two hours early in the morning. It turned out the bakery out front overcooked something and triggered the alarm. Despite the tight space and the chaotic morning, the wonderful staff really made a positive impression."

Haka House Wanaka
8.9 (311 reviews)

Haka House Wanaka ★★★★

📍 94 Brownston Street, Wanaka

"Wanaka itself isn't a big place, and Haka is considered one of the higher-quality hostels, plus it's very close to the town center. Even during holidays, the cleanliness is consistently good. Unlike the Haka in Queenstown, perhaps because there's more space here, the accommodations are individual buildings, whereas in Queenstown, the entire second floor is dorm rooms. However, there's a gravel path leading up to this Haka, which will definitely test your suitcase wheels! Overall, it's pretty good. You can walk right out to stargaze at night and then quickly hop back into bed."

Waiorau Homestead ★★★★
"Stayed for 2 nights with Blyth and Ann. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel totally at home. Nothing was too much trouble. Every room is filled with top end fittings and furniture, not to mention exceptional art. The views are outstanding and the location puts you right on the doorstep to several outstanding tourist attractions. We asked about the optional dinner and Blyth cooked us up a sumptuous 3 course meal for a very reasonable price. "

"Great stay. One downside is that the entire bathroom floods when you shower. There is no shower tray, and the water runs throughout the bathroom. Very strangely designed."

Alpine Junction Townhouse Apartments, Lodge & Hotel ★★★
"The hotel environment is quite good. Each room comes with a dedicated parking space, which is great for families. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy. The kitchen equipment is limited and quite basic. I highly recommend the breakfast place right outside the hotel, Pembroke Pâtisserie – it's absolutely delicious!"

Haka House Wanaka ★★★★
"This is my second stay here. Even though it's a hostel, it's very clean and quiet. Parking across the street is free, so you don't have to park inside the hotel. We booked a bunk bed for two, which was great value for money compared to a king room. Next time I visit New Zealand, I'll only play in Queenstown and Wanaka, and spend more days in Wanaka."
