Welcome to Bizarro World! The general description of the place on this page was accurate when Plaza Caserta opened. We stayed here overnight on our way to Sorrento in June '24. I have NO idea what happened to this city, and the Google is not giving up her secrets. Everything online is as though the place is preserved as it must have appeared 20 or so years ago. All around, as we drove in, there was economic ruin and utter urban decay. Many condemned and derelict buildings. It felt as though we were on a movie set, and I wasn't sure if it was a comedy or a horror flick. The staff were good enough, but everyone acted as though they didn't notice the opulent hotel they work in was crumbling around them. The pictures posted here seem to be computer renderings before it even opened. That glorious pool? Empty, crumbling, and full of pigeons. That luscious landscaping? Full of weeds and bone dry. This place was amazing when it opened, but we were actually a little scared, at first. HOWEVER, all that said, the room was clean (despite some questionable stains on the couch), HUGE and COOL! Our spacious room had 2 bathrooms! Breakfast was outstanding, and a short walk away (touring through the dilapidated surroundings), we found a very memorable, fresh meal. But, again, everyone was acting as though they were awaiting a bustling crowd, and we were the only ones there. I was in a quandary over how many stars to offer--we had an amazing night's sleep after a very taxing travel day to Rome from US, with a train strike forcing us to hire a taxi to take us there for over 300 pounds. My son was very disappointed in the state of the pool, and, truly, all we wanted to do was go chill out there. Nothing I search reveals why there were so many skeletal remains of what was clearly a bustling city. As I write this, I don't actually expect it will be published because I assume censorship is why there is nothing online about the decay or Caserta.

There are no blankets in the room. Stuffy air in hall and room until AC is turned on. Shower water temperature inconsistent. (no pressure balancing). Mosquitoes in dining room. Poor wifi reception. Slippery bathtub. Room # marked on key card. Restaurant used saucer to served dessert pastry not plates. Saucer are for cups. Cellular reception very poor.

Terrible Hotel, we were refused a cancellation, we could not stay due to the state of the Pool and Hotel facilities, dark, musty, cigarette stench and mouldy windows. Pool was a disgrace, water was green, and weeds were knee high, fake photo and actual photo are attached.

Beautiful and very large structure, scenic hall and the rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was good and with a wide choice, the staff was also very friendly. The only flaw: the 80s carpet, too old and a haunt of dust and mites. The hotel is so large and scattered that in some places it seems abandoned, some maintenance work should also be done.

Really nice hotel in the common areas; an immense and scenic hall, with its height and glass roof. A different story for the rooms and distribution areas on the upper floors, where old and stained carpeting reigns, and everything is in urgent need of maintenance, if not downright restoration. The rooms are large but very dated, with a strong odor that is anything but pleasant. Even the bathroom, although quite comfortable, would need maintenance. Cleanliness, beyond sheets and towels, not at the highest levels (finding hair in the bathroom is never an exciting thing). Good and rather rich breakfast (nothing to complain about). I find it incredible that, when we arrived at 9.15pm, they didn't let us have dinner because they told us everything was booked. In reality the restaurant was empty, with some tables to be cleared, and evidently they already wanted to close. Also convenient location for visiting the palace, which can be reached in 5 minutes by car.

Great reception and check in staff. Very good comfort of the room.. minimal problem with use of the tub. The breakfast was more than satisfactory. Excellent value for money. We used it as a stopover for a long trip returning from southern Italy to Tuscany. But - the level of service remaining the same - we will use it next time also for both return journeys. Room with window or balcony is preferable.

Huge hotel, gigantic common areas and the possibility of using the swimming pool (unfortunately ask early at 6pm!). Unhygienic carpeting both in the corridors and in the rooms, summary cleanliness in the rooms, rooms stuck in the 90s and bathroom stopped even before that! Positive note size of the room; sufficient breakfast, nothing artisanal, everything packaged or industrial.
