Hotels Near Chartres Train Station in Chartres

First the positives- 1) the staff were great. They found my forgotten bag and called me to get it- thank you. 2) Parking space was secure and great. Negatives 1) our room smelled of sewage and our sink was leaking into the towels and the box of paper towel they had left in the bathroom. 2) Our room was facing the road and I could not sleep at night with the noise and not sure there was much double glazing and sound insulation from the road. 3) We went down for 10 am to have breakfast and most things were finished and they were not topping the plates up so paid 18 euros per person for not a lot of breakfast. Coffee was not great either. Conclusion: I will not be going back.

Room: the queen bed was more like a king. Had a love seat sofa that is a pull out. Full length mirror, hair dryer not attached to wall, only liquid soap at sink & shower(for toiletries ). Air con was great!!(on sept 12!!) Parking: 8€/24hr & it is “in & out”! Attached to the back of the property off of the back patio with tables & chairs. Hotel: full bar with beer taps(was able to get a free huge glass of ice here!) breakfast room with tables & chairs, & lobby with sofa & tables & chairs(with scrabble, trivial pursuit , books,cards. So very nice common areas 24/7 & also a vending area with drink, snacks, toothpaste, etc. WiFi work well!

We had an outstanding suitte the size of a small apartment. Included entry way with large bath and separate toilet, separate bathtub and shower, double sink. The bedroom area had 2 sofas, a desk with chair, and two easy chairs. Very comfortable and unique decor. Breakfast room/brasserie is lovely, under a skylight. Breakfast buffet was excellent, with many choices of eggs, cereals, yogurt, several breads, bacon, etc.. Very comfortable bed with top quality linens and pillows. Good elevator. We didn't use the main restaurant as it was closed the days we were there (Sunday and Monday), but there are a number of restaurants in Chartres and the hotel brasserie was open.. Hotel is in a 17C mansion, so if you are expecting a generic hotel experience, this isn't it, although the room and hotel are fully modernized (including A/C, not needed during our visit. Location of hotel is optimall for visiting the cathedral and walking around the charming old city with little shops, bars restaurants.

A night stop over booked on line for two rooms. No problems at all. Easy to find with secure parking behind the hotel (€10 for 24 hours) Comfortable rooms with all that is needed for one night though having your own kettle is an advantage. Comfortable bed and good shower with plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful with advice on local amenities. Only a 15 minute walk to the Cathedral and the centre of town. Restaurants tend to be expensive in the centre so we ate at the hotel. A good quality satisfying meal with good service. A good range of food for breakfast completed a great stay.

Mon compagnon et moi avons aimé notre séjour dans ce Residhome qui est très bien placé pas loin du centre , la cathédrale et les restaurants. La propreté est irréprochable très important pour nous 😀. Le lit est confortable on y dort bien .le personnel est sympathique et nous a donné des conseils utiles pour visiter la ville . Le monsieur qui était là au moment du check out était très sympa tique et professionnel , il nous a donné envie de revenir en nous parlant de la fête de la lumière qui va avoir lieu en février ou mars 2024 . Nous le remercions au passage ☺️ Nous le recommandons et séjournerons là bas sans hésitation si nous retournons à Chartres un jour .

We used this as an overnight stop and the service is disgusting. We had eaten a heavy lunch earlier in the day so requested some bar food. We were given a bar menu and decided on two croque monsieur. Even though they had given us the bar menu they then refused to serve us food in the bar and insisted that we go in the restaurant saying we could order it in there. On going into the restaurant we were told that bar food was unavailable in the restaurant. We had experience of the restaurant menu the previous night in the Novotel Narbonne, the menu is limited and does not cater for small meals. The staff did nothing to assist with providing some light food and appeared to not really care about it.Two French gentlemen who were at the hotel for business purposes and had overheard our conversations with the staff advised us not to eat in the hotel saying it was terrible. There was no manager on the premises only inexperienced reception staff and rude bar and restaurant staff. At the bar we had a Coke and a bottle of water, my wife was offered a plastic glass for her water and had to ask for a glass one. The person who served her just raised their eyes and slammed a glass down on the bar. This person turned out to be the restaurant manager. We are now sat in our room with no food as they refuse to provide room service which I thought was a requirement for a 4 star Hotel. The room is hot and humid as they have turned the air conditioning off. I have booked breakfast in the morning but now we do not wish to eat here so it will be interesting to see if they try to charge us for breakfast! Take our advice and don't stay here, 4 star hotel and 1 star service.

We often stop here to charge the car, en route to or back from England. The hotel is fine, if rather overpriced, and the restaurant is excellent… when it’s open! But I’ve stayed overnight on a Sunday… no evening meal. And today we’ve stopped on a Saturday, to have lunch while the car charged - but no restaurant again! Worse - the message was delivered very rudely, and with no alternative offered. Turns out there’s a climbing wall place next door with a decent burger/salad type restaurant. So we were able to walk over, and they got our money. We won’t be spending anything at this hotel again. If they want to be rude, and turn down good business opportunities, that’s their choice. I’ll go for a nice burger instead.
