Not dirty but could definitely be cleaner. One example, under the toaster was a large blob of old melted butter and loads of butter and burned crumbs stuck along the cable which I cleaned. (Cleaner not moving things to clean properly). Also the tables and surfaces had not been sprayed or wiped. I found a clump of food dried onto the coffee table and a sugary cup ring stain. A deep clean would be beneficial throughout. Do include spring-cleaning the vents which are furred up and windows and sills have cobwebs. One of the lamps in the bedroom didn't work and the back was missing off the plug. Hairdryer was missing from the box, not that I needed it but I noticed. Only 2 small toilet rolls were available. The cups were stained and need a good clean and the cupboards and drawers could do with being refreshed. The bed linen /sheet didn't properly fit and kept scrunching up. The mattress had red wine? stain. Perhaps a mattress protector might be a good idea? And perhaps king- sized base sheets might ensure mattress coverage? The heating was up way too high so I just turned it off as adjusting the temp on the thermostat was not as easy as you might think, with a pre-programmed menu which over-rode attempts I made to reduce the heat. In the room/cuboard next to apartment 6 is some kind of machine (boiler? /extractor?) which makes an intermittent loud 'grinding' / 'whirring' sounds every 5 mins through the night. This is directly behind the bedroom wall and was disturbing. I will attempt add a little video to show how close the basement boiler cupboard is to the flat and a sense of the noise which I think my phone may pick up as it's quite loud. This noisy cupboard is directly next to the bedroom wall. It's like sleeping next to a washing machine on a spin cycle that never ends. There was minimum in terms of resources. No soap in the bathroom, just a mini shampoo which looked and smelled exactly like the cheap washing up liquid in the kitchen so I had to buy soap from local shop. Basic handwashing in any bathroom says, provide soap. Overall 5/10. Not impressive. Not terrible. Averagely ok. Better than a one room travelodge, as at least I could open the windows here. But certainly not shiny and clean, and it's never seen 'luxury'. Very little in way of kitchen things. There was a burnt wooden spoon and a few other bits. No cafetière or coffee making gadget available. That's a minimum- surely!? Would I book it again? Erm..... well, if I had no other choice and it was all that was available, at short notice then I might resort to it?! I wouldn't seek it out though. But, honestly, that noisy cupboard machine pumping next door is just grim. No amount of cleaning the flat or adding quality kitchen utensils will ever change that beast bubbling away. I'm sure there are more preferable accommodation options in Chester. I chose this flat as the advert said there was parking. Not true. There is a Carpark around the corner and it's no
