Nice hotel, and the staff is making an effort to provide good service, but did not seem to fulfill its full potential. This might be related to the fact we visited during low season -- but still, a few things made it feel like amateur hour. (In particular, the food was disappointing.) At least during low season, when many nearby hotels offer discounted rates, you can probably do better for your money. ***Also, a warning about Rilan: It's beautiful, but to get to most of the island's natural beauty/hiking, you need to go through Castro and the accompanying traffic, which adds 45 minutes to an hour to transit time. This makes it a bad "base camp." Would recommend staying here for a couple of days at most to enjoy the peninsula itself and Castro, then moving to another place on the island to be closer to the parks.*** SETTING: The place has lovely architecture, is built using lots of wood and furnished with natural materials. Common areas are pretty and the setting is beautiful and surrounded by nice trails. ROOM: On advance inquiry. We were recommended to stay in a lodge room due to these rooms' proximity to the spa (we were interested in the pool/hot tubs) and better wifi. While these rooms are nicely furnished, they are unfortunately quite small and oddly cramped, with hardly enough room for two people's luggage. Also, we were placed in the room furthest from the common areas, and wifi was still come-and-go. Rooms were clean on arrival, including a pristine bathroom with great water pressure and consistent hot water. Our bed was made up daily; there is no door hanger to indicate you don't need your room cleaned, although I'm sure you could tell the front desk staff. FOOD: The kitchen was disappointing. Breakfast -- "lo mejor que hay," according to a worker on the first day -- did not include anything hot until the third day of our stay, when we were offered eggs. Why did this only happen on the third day? When we asked, we were told this was something we could have requested earlier. Come ON. This felt like an unacceptable level of service. After a dinner on the first day that included half-cooked pasta that was grudgingly re-boiled until adequately cooked, we did not eat dinner here again. The citrus-infused water in the cooler in the common area is left to sit too long and sometimes tasted off as a consequence. We just drank water from the tap. SPA: We got very average massages (offered only in the morning before 11am, 48K CLP/45 min) and although staff attempted to draw a tinaja (wooden hot tub), the water was too hot to enjoy. (Staffer said 40C was the correct temp -- this is in fact the MAXIMUM temp that a hot tub should be. She tried her best to cool it down by adding hot water but could only do so much, and we left it early.) Pool area is decent and pool itself is refreshing. Some may find it a bit cool to their taste during wintertime. OTHER: On the last day, with the hotel still nearly empty, guests were placed in the room ab

A lot of wonderful things about this hotel. the surrounding natural beauty and the very beautiful dining room and common rooms with stunning views. The wooden deck surrounding the hotel and outside the spa area is somewhat degraded and even rotten in some places by the hot tub. The breakfast is very nice. We only ate dinner there one night but would not recommend. the food was not great and the fish was really not good. An oddity that there was absolutely no information about hikes or things to do nearby. Of course we had the internet but desk staff seemed befuddled by the request for suggestions. Trails behind the hotel can take you down to the water but are poorly marked and there is no map. (bosque and mar arrows are also backwards) Our room had a small balcony to enjoy the view, but oddly no chairs. Bed was comfortable and cozy. Bathroom very spare. Shower was a plastic walk in like in a camper. no shelf or any place to put soap. Bottom line is that the natural beauty is amazing and the common rooms are extraordinary. It's kind of hard to understand though how every review can be 10 out of 10.

Quilquico is a special place . As shown on their website it is all about blending with nature, wonderful views, quiet surroundings , friendly service. A bit out if the way but worth it . Diner was a bit of a surprise since there was only 1 menu offering but the chef changed a couple of things to accommodate our preferences and it end it up being delicious!

Beautiful lodging, wonderful staff and peaceful setting. I would definitely recommend this hotel to couples in particular. Restaurant, bar pool & spa also available. It was difficult to leave and if we're ever in Chile again will definitely stay here!

We spent 4 night at Parque Quilquico and greatly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is surrounded by forests and has a stunning view of the fjord. Our bedroom was very comfortable and had a great view of the woods. The service and food in the restaurant is outstanding. Diego Fernandez ,our waiter, speaks excellent English and went out of his way to provide the right food for my husband who has strict dietary restrictions. His kindness and diligence really made a difference. The staff at the desk, particularly Sol and Priscilla, were always kind and helpful. Lovely, cosy hotel in an edenic setting My only quibble. The water in the pool needs to be a tad warmer.
