Iris Hotel

Iris Hotel

📍 Petricani St 17, Chisinau
★★★★ 8.4 (31 reviews)

"“Beautiful rooms ” Very friendly staff at reception, clean, spacious new decorated rooms. Comfortable mattress and pillows, black out curtains, sound proof windows. Unfortunately there's some not very good things: Breakfast is horrendous!! Very limited choice, all cold! Cold eggs and sausages! I understand it's included, but I rather pay for it,and have a normal breakfast,or don't have any,and pay less for the stay ."

"This new hotel is a modern stylish hotel, with a pleasant Tennis theme throughout. We stayed there with a football team and all our specific requirements such as menus and meal times were accommodated by the hotel without fuss. Location was ideal, close to airport and only a 10 minute drive to the stadium we played in. "

"The location is fantastic! Having a large mall next door (with restaurants, a food court, a supermarket, and a currency exchange) was incredibly convenient. The bus stops for the airport and tourist attractions are right in front of the hotel, making getting around super easy. While tourist spots are a bit far to walk, the bus gets you there in about 10 minutes for a cheap USD 0.4, which was great. Choosing this hotel over others within walking distance was definitely the right decision. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, including fruits, vegetables, and Moldovan sweets. The rose jam, in particular, was delicious, and I enjoyed it with bread and yogurt every day. The restaurant itself has high ceilings, giving it an open and airy feel, and the seating is spacious and comfortable. There's also a terrace area with a nice ambiance. The restaurant staff were wonderful. Irina, the restaurant manager, was incredibly kind and attentive, quickly remembering my name and always greeting me warmly. Marin also remembered my name and greeted me by name every day. Alexandr, the assistant restaurant manager, was also very helpful, assisting with requests, currency exchange, and even explaining coins in detail. He even gave me a Moldovan coin as a souvenir, which was a lovely memory. Front desk and hotel staff were excellent. Lana and Carolina at the front desk were consistently helpful and answered my questions and requests sincerely every day. They also shared insights into Moldovan culture during our conversations, which was one of the highlights of my stay. Mihaela, the shift manager, was very professional and reassuring. The room was comfortable, and issues were handled swiftly. My room was new, clean, and comfortable. There was a minor issue with the first room, but I was immediately moved to another. When the shower pressure was a bit low, I contacted them, and the technical manager promptly came to check and resolve it. Valentina, the housekeeper, had a lovely smile, and I looked forward to seeing her every day. She made a genuine effort to speak English. There was a special touch during my stay. When I inquired about the rose jam I loved at breakfast, Hotel Manager Ana Cozma took the initiative to help. Thanks to her suggestion and arrangements, I received both the rose jam and a special bottle of wine. Later, Ana, the Sales & Guest Relations Coordinator, personally delivered them to my room. I was so touched that I teared up, and she gave me a warm hug. The wine commemorated the 20th anniversary of independence for Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine, and its concept deeply moved me. Overall, I spent most of my 6-night stay at the hotel, and it was a very fulfilling experience, including all the interactions with the staff. It was even more memorable than just sightseeing. While the price might be a bit higher, it's definitely worth it. I will certainly stay here again on my next visit to Moldova."

Hotel Lidia

📍 Armeneasca St 71, Chisinau
★★★ 8.8 (10 reviews)

"The entire 'Hotel' is filthy, literally smells like a sewer. We paid before we arrived, after setting foot inside we asked for a refund which the very rude owner Lidia refused, playing dumb saying " oh how can I do that you paid by card" my verbatim response was "GO to the atm and take cash out" We had to buy our own cleaning products to clean the room. Toilet was leaking from the base. Shower broken. The water was coming out of the hose of the shower. Also what little water came out of the hose was freezing cold. No hot water. I can only surmise that the positive reviews are paid for because there is no way that anyone who actually made the mistake of booking and staying here would have a single good word to say about this place and staff"

"We booked two rooms through Trip.com, but upon arrival, they gave us a different room than the one in the Trip.com booking. We complained, but there was an agency between Trip.com and the hotel, and they said that the Trip.com information was wrong. I was speechless. (I think Trip.com was largely at fault) We talked to the agency and resolved the issue. They separated one room into twin rooms with attached beds. They also changed the other room to the room in the photo that was originally booked. But this is not the problem. The color of the shower water was a bit strange, but I didn't notice because the water in the bathroom didn't drain. When I went outside, there was rust stains on the floor of the bathtub. Wow, I'm going crazy. When I turned on the cold water, the disinfectant came out cloudy. It was the worst. The worst. I will never go to this hotel again. I think Trip.com is introducing this hotel as a 5-star hotel, and there are many problems with how they communicated with the middleman. I am a Trip.com Diamond and have been disappointed so much lately that I am thinking about going back to **********. The prices seem to be the same and if you collect 10 coupons there, you get a 10th of the average price back. Thinking about it and calculating, I think it is much better than Trip.com rewards. Trip.com, please come to your senses. Finding new customers is important, but please treat your current members well."
