Chongqing Qijiang District 5-star Hotels

This hotel recommended by a friend, convenient transportation, very close to Wanda, there are many foods nearby, the price is very high, the room layout is OK, the bedding is very comfortable, the sleep is very comfortable, the room has a big bathtub, the hotel front desk service is very good, very warm, check-in is very fast, Can respond warmly and positively, will come to stay next time!

Staying at this hotel, I especially want to express my sincere appreciation for room service and front desk service. The room facilities are perfect, the beds are comfortable, and the cleanliness is extremely high, which makes me feel the warmth and comfort of home. The front desk staff was warm and thoughtful, not only provided me with a detailed check-in guide, but also patiently answered all my questions. Their professionalism and efficient service made my stay easy and enjoyable. This service experience has undoubtedly improved my overall evaluation of this hotel and made me look forward to my next stay.

Other than the great location at jiefangbei (we even managed to take a manageable walk all the way to Hongyadong) and nearby many great food options, the interior of the rooms were slightly disappointing and looked old and run down (especially the bathrooms). There were also some stains around.

The hotel is part of the scenic spot and is busiest from 5-11pm, so taxis are a bit reluctant to drop off at the hotel because of road closures at that time. This is mentioned when booking the hotel so it is expected. In saying that, staying at the hotel means you don't have to travel anywhere to be in the middle of all the action. The place had rhythm and pulse all day and most of the night. The hotel itself is an adventure to explore but be warned there are stairs, stairs and more stairs. We didn't find any Western food, but there is plenty of hot and spicy food around.

This hotel has definitely seen better days.. The location is a bit difficult to find but it’s very close to a subway station and the longest we had to ride in a did was about 20mins. The service was just ok. They didn’t change our towels or service our room until 5pm (even though the service cart was sitting outside of our room since morning). However when we got locked out of our room at they came quickly to help. The receptionist also responded quickly and changed rooms when we found bugs in our room. The cleanliness is questionable, first we saw roaches and bugs running around the hotel. The bottom of the pool also had some dead bugs. The rug in our first room was very dirty, we didn’t feel comfortable taking our shoes off. The R on the sign was falling off and they’re dead plants all over the hotel! Overall, I think this hotel was a lot different than pictured and it kind of turned us off from exploring it more. It definitely needs a clean up!

One of the elevators was not working during our stay. A simple ride down during the morning rush hour took everyone 20 minutes waiting time. Each elevator was packed like sardines in tin cans. To avoid any emergency incidents - I strongly suggest The elevator situation to be improved quickly. Also anyone and everyone could take the elevator to any floors- there is no need for room card security- which makes it a bit unsafe.

Only 5 mins away from JieFangBei and 81 haochijie (night market). Only bad thing is that the building is under construction and construction starts at 9am on weekdays. Quite a pain in the ass if you wants to sleep in. Bedsheets are not changed everyday cause I see the same red mark on the sheets from day 1-3. Shampoo/conditioner are replenish everyday. Would be nice if there is do not disturb light is lighted when the hotel card is inserted. Hotel staff knocked and tap to enter our door at 10ish (and we are in deep sleep) and asked to do room service……. Hotel also provide clothes washing and drying service but 5 pieces per room. Room was nice and spacious, and the toilet amenities were good. Toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, hair dryer, etc. were provided. The hotel was also located in a good location, within minutes walk to nearby shopping streets and food streets. However, the daily room cleaning could be improved as the same table/floor stains could be observed throughout my stay despite the daily indication for room make up. Front desk staff and reception service (over wechat) were friendly and courteous. Facilities could be also improved as the washer-dryer did not work well. The dryer function did not work at all and despite several rounds of drying (following instructions given by staff on how to operate the machine), with each round taking several hours of our time, the clothes remained wet and we were left with no choice but to air dry our laundry. Also, the room cleaning service staff did not check and replace the laundry detergent for our subsequent use of washer when they tidied the room each day. For those who are particular, do also note that the hotel seems to be under central air conditioning system. As such, the room was rather stuffy throughout my stay there (since it was Mar and the indoor heating was operating, we could not turn on air conditioning to lower the temperature indoors), and we could only rely on keeping the one window open for fresh air to ventilate. Also, the front desk was unable to provide services to help call a taxi for our last journey back to the airport, but we were lucky that there were a few taxis waiting by the main roads near the hotel, despite it being early in the morning at around 5am. Despite all of these, I would nonetheless consider this a rather positive stay, for its price and location.

We had a great and comfortable stay at the Somerset. All the staff were extremely helpful, especially the housekeeper Katie. She went out of her way to find us a drying rack to dry out clothes, without us asking. Really appreciated! The hotel is in a good location next to the river and good walking distances to most of the sites we wanted to see. Breakfast was good with enough choice and gym was great! If you want to use the swimming pool, remember to take a swimming cap!

The hotel is amazing. You get an amazing view of the city and Yangtze River. The location is fantastic. It’s next to an indoor mall with shopping and lots of restaurants. The staff and service is outstanding. They are so attentive and helpful. They delivered a fruit bowl to your room daily.
