Hotels Near Galleria in Christchurch

Comfortable hotel in Heart of City. Booked a room using points as a Gold Elite. Requested quiet room and was appointed 3rd floor over traffic lights so receptionist kindly moved me to a room on opposite side. It was quiet however the walls are thin and I can hear a lot of noise this morning - a lot of noise. Room service eggs were excellent, as was bar service last night. They know how to make a good drink. I was a bit annoyed as mini bar knocked this am and said she thought there was “no one in the room” whilst I was on a call. Not so professional. Can recommend as a good hotel in Christchurch (I’ve stayed in quite a few)

Hello Ibis Christchurch Manager, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my appreciation for the wonderful setting and location of your hotel during my stay on Jul 23rd. The Central Business district location, coupled with the fantastic array of shopping and dining options mere meters away, truly made my experience enjoyable. I must commend your front desk team for their warm and friendly service throughout my stay. They were attentive and accommodating, making me feel welcome and valued as a guest. However, I regret to share that my experience with the housekeeping teams left me feeling disappointed. My Friend and I had made a specific and personal request, both directly with the housekeeping staff and through the front desk, to have our room cleaned during our stay. Unfortunately, upon returning to our room, we were shocked to find a ”do not disturb” tag hanging on the door, indicating that the room had not been attended to. I understand that errors can occur in any establishment, and I believe this was a process oversight rather than a deliberate neglect. Nevertheless, I felt the need to bring this matter to your attention. These small irritants can have a lasting impact on a guest's experience, and I sincerely hope that your management will take this feedback constructively to prevent such incidents in the future. I truly enjoyed my overall stay at your hotel, but I believe that addressing such issues will elevate your services to an even higher level of excellence. Once again, thank you for the pleasant ambiance and location your hotel provides; it is undoubtedly a great asset. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Close to everything and all the attractions are within 15 minutes walking distance. Free car parking is a bonus. Will definitely stay again.

Nice room and services, carpark is available along street at limited time

The loveliest - particular thanks to Sam - front desk staff (and efficient too). Excellent location, only a short walk to the centre, and very pleasant if you go through the park. There is also a bus stop directly outside; it will take you to the centre, or go to the bus station and take a trip to Sumner or Lyttleton - both worth a visit. Rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfortable. For some reason though, complimentary water and crisps only appeared on our first day! Useful to have a guest laundry, but be warned there is only one machine for all floors... The kitchen area is fine, but not for those who want to cook up a storm - you need to ask for pots and pans. Not a problem for us as we preferred to eat out (try Rangoon Ruby nearby, good, if somewhat 'neutralized' flavours, as the waitress herself put it!) . Overall a really pleasant stay in a very interesting city.

The hotel is much better than as shown on the website. Most facilities are available nearby. Excellent stay.

Just by the road, not far from the airport. Check-in is simple, just report the name, free parking, good front desk service, delivered a box of milk, recommended a good local western restaurant, not too far from the western restaurant, supermarket, the supermarket is near the Chinese district, but the supermarket is 19 o’clock It closes around. The room is not big, there is no closet, there is not much place to put clothes, it is clean, there are cooking, bath supplies, towels, no slippers, coffee, shower nozzles are not very watery

Everything about Lylo Christchurch has been good except there is no storage room to keep your luggage, however locker is there to rent with $2 per hour. Room is really clean and neat, comfy, everything just perfect (except the walking distance to airport need around 15 mins and is pretty straightforward right from behind the hostel) . Overall all has been a good experience, thanks Lylo!

It's my last stop before I fly back home for good after a 2 weeks holiday in NZ. It's a total disaster experience as the lady restaurant manager (working on 23 May 2023, 9pm), was plain rude when I approached her politely wanting to ask her whether the restaurant was still operating since it was late already. She was then holding a tray of empty cups, gave me a stare, and whispered an insincere 'sorry' with a frustrated facial and dashed right past me. Mind you, there was only 1 table of 2 guests in the entire restaurant. Not wanting to spoil our mood further, I have decided to walk away calmly, be the bigger self, and head to the bar instead. Honestly, it was totally not the busiest day since it's a Tuesday evening, the bartender was so impatient in trying to wait for us to make our orders (we are only ordering 2 drinks my dear), he wasn't helpful in trying to provide alternative (since one of the drinks we wanted is OOS) or wait for JUST another minute for us to look through the short food menu quickly to decide what food we wanted to add on to our order. He quickly decided to push us to the restaurant if we wanted food. Hello? If we were ordering drinks at the bar, why would we want to order bar food to eat at the restaurant? Perhaps we aren't looking too groomed to garner his prestigious service that's why he was pushing us away? My goodness... this is the worst ever experience I had in my entire stay here. Every other accommodation service staff we have met was friendly, polite, and treats us with loving respect. I honestly do not expect a reputable hotel to have such horrible service.
